What a great show - as expected. Arlo was here two years ago, and promised then that he'd be doing 'Alice' this time around, and he was true to his word. He tosses in a couple of new lyrics - topical references that fit right into the song, too. As funny as it was when I was my 15-year-old son's age. He's a big Arlo fan, too, and was at the concert, of course.

After the show, Arlo signed my nearly 40-year-old 'Alice's Restaurant' l.p., and a baseball for my collection. (I know it's kind of weird, but it's a hobby - what can I say? John Cleese signed one for me, too, and got the biggest kick out of being asked to do it.)

Maybe somebody who has been to a show on this tour can help me out. About halfway through the second half of the show, Arlo sang a new song - I think he mentioned that he'd written it only a couple of years ago - that was very moving and beautiful. Unfortunately, I'm so tired at the moment, that I can't really remember any of the lyrics. I think there was something about a highway in the refrain. (Not 'Highway in the Wind' - like I say, this was a new song).

Any ideas?

Thanks! I think you're probably right. I haven't been able to find the lyrics for that song anywhere...but in looking around for them, I see that a new c.d. featuring Arlo is due out July 10th, with that as the title.

Probably my favorite Arlo quote of the evening, talking about the still-relevant lyrics of some of his Dad's songs from the '30s and '40s: "On the one hand, it says something good about the songs...on the other hand, it's a shame the World still sucks."

I'm baking brownies as soon as I get home from school to bring tomorrow. ADG hasn't responded to my request as to what should be added Of course, the only choices I gave him are coffee or cinnamon... so I'll probably just leave them "plain."

That sounds like it'd be fun. I like to wear 60's & 70's style stuff & hippie style stuff so I'd fit right in there...
