Saw Arlo last night at the Weston Auditorium. He was exceptional. He played lots of old favorites including.......you guessed it.. ALICE! Woohoooo!! Arlo didn't miss a single word Unfortunately, I did not take notes so I don't have a set list. There was no formal meet and greet after the show, but a few of us brave folks who were not afraid of missing the bus back to the parking lot hung around with high hopes that he might come out...and he did. He sat on the edge of the stage and shook hands and gave autographs and some took pics. (My camera would not work ) Anyway, I was star struck couldn't think of anything smart or witty to say, so I just said thank you and sorta handed him the booklet from my new cd confident that he would know just what to do with it , which he did lol My son was thrilled to meet him as well. Being a young musician himself, he was quited impressed.. Didn't think Arlo even needs a band..he also enjoyed the stories, especially the one about Arlo's mom and his piano practicing as a child.
OK, I'm done..now I'm just babbling. I just thought you might like to hear a little bit about the show. Anyone else out there go??

Rosie, so glad you got to meet him. He's so nice to his fans who hang out after the shows. And don't worry about not being able to think of anything to say... I think most of us have been there... and some of us (especially me) have said some really dumb things... and we've survived. He won't be in my area(s) until March, so I'm just so happy to be able to read what you and others have posted. Thanks for sharing.

I felt the same way meeting Arlo last summer at the cape. I would have been in Fitchburg but was,..........in Louisville, KY at the AMTA (American Music Therapy Association) convention. The freak vibe down there is thick. Especially in this tye dyed neighborhood called the "Highlands". Anyhow thanks for the report and Happy Thanksgiving to all. Our next local conference is in Lenox in April ! I have a proposal in to do a presentation on the therapeutic value of the music of the Guthrie clan and I hope to work up a song circle community experience at the GC through George. Hopefully more to follow.

I'm pissed a my friend who is my ride for saying he couldn't afford the 28 bucks to see Arlo in Fitchburg. He has never been closer to Littleton.
I did meet Arlo once at the Church. I had thrown up while driving there, so I don't know what I smelt like.
He was right in the entrance as I walked in and said to myself, "Its him." Told him I had seen him the night before in Groton. And that he was better recorded but did say The Power of Love and Someday are so Beautiful. And he said "Oh Thank you."
Then he got someone to show me the Temple. I didn't stay long, and the lady said I was the fastest in and out there ever.
I'm going to have to make one of those retreats he has planned for sometime next year. I need to know how he can stay so mellow in a world that is falling apart around me.

I am amazed at this myself. At the concert I attended, it seemed he offered to us not just his music, but a few hours escape, for which I was most grateful.

But it took me back to the late 60's when we had hope for peace in our lifetime. Of course we did not know that 50 years later we would have holy war, hatred toward the United States… and most of all, terrorism. I met a friend on the street the other day told me they were breeding children to be suicide bombers. I wondered …what does that look like? How do the parents breed a child to be a sacrifice? She told me it was nothing to them , that they believe the child will come back in a higher place. In the 60’s, did anyone imagine this would be a strategy to fight for land and oil ?

Hi, saw Arlo in Fitchburg last week, and as always he was fantastic, wish I had known that he would come out to see people. I would love to shake his hand. I shall look forward to seeing him again and again after the new year. I will check out the retreats. Arlo you are the best and the guitar music is out of this world, at least it puts me out of this world.

Yeas, I whole-heartily agree! He put me, too, into into a space where I can finally think the thougths I want to think.
