On the night of April 8, I walked into the Crest Theatre to see Arlo Guthrie for the first time.
I decided as soon as I heard he was coming to Sacramento that I would definitely go...no questions asked. All I knew of Arlo was through my discovery of him over time, other music I had heard led me to him, one being his father. I had several of his albums but had never seen him perform either in person or on the internet. I truly was walking into the performance with no expectations. Arlo truly blew my mind. Every thing from his singing, to his stories, to the way he played the guitar was amazing. The only way to truly explain my feelings toward his performance is utterly impressive. There was no limit to the connection a person could feel in that entire room. If you were willing to listen and open yourself up, Arlo was right there for you. I will never forget that night. It was a night of true amazement and wonder.

I truly hope Arlo comes back to California soon, I will be there.

The man does have this impecable way, of lighting up a room.
