How about including something from "Son of the Wind" in a set, or perhaps other cowboy material? Cowboy songs are something many of us grew up with, whether authentic folk songs or something from a Gene Autry movie, they're always fun.

Cowboy song wet sounds like a good idea. Maybe it could be planned with a family tree musical thread e.g. I believe "Oklahoma Hills" was written by Woodie and Jack Guthrie.

He's added one or 2 songs from Son of the Wind since October. Riding Down the Canyon and, I think, When the Cactus is in Bloom. One or the other, don't recall which.

'Dead or Alive' is one of my favorites. Especially live. Would love to hear a live version of Buffaloe Gals tho???

Other than the ones on 'Son of the Wind' - what other cowboy folks songs do you think would lend themselves to the Guthrie family treatment?

How about the "Cowboy's Lament", or maybe Sarah doing "I'd Like To Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart"? As for Abe, the only cowboy keyboard song I know of is "Ragtime Cowboy Joe" - which is a great song, but more in the country swing mode.

It would be nice to hear Sarah Lee sing "Ballad of a Runaway Horse" by Leonard Cohen. Emmylou Harris does the song proud on her album "Cowgirl's Prayer." It's a perfect cowgirl/folk song tailor made for a voice like Sarah Lee's, (or at least consider running it through the considering process).
