HELLO FOLKS OUT THERE IN ARLO LAND. 'IM A LONG TIME ARLO FAN FROM BACK EAST AND NOW BACK WEST " OR IS THAT OUT WEST" AND I AM VERY EXCITED THAT MY FIANCE AND I ARE GOING TO SEE ARLO AT THE CHURCH ON JULY 3 ON OUR VACATION THROUGHOUT NEW ENGLAND.

HERE IS THE DEAL!!!! WE BOOKED OUR TRIP MONTHS AGO AND I FORGOT THAT ALL THE WEALTHY NEW YORKERS HAVE SUMMER HOMES AND SUCH IN THE MTNS BESIDES IT BEING AN AMAZING TOURIST SPOT UP THERE. I CAN NOT FIND A SINGLE PLACE TO STAY. I FOUND A PLACE TO STAY LIKE 40 MILES AWAY WHICH I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM AS IT IS ON THE WAY TO OUR NEXT DESTINATION IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, BUT AFTER A GRUELING 6 HOUR FLIGHT ON A BOEING 737 AND A DRIVE ABOUT 3 HRS. I SURE WISH THERE IS A PLACE WE CAN STAY A BIT CLOSER.

ARLO MAY I CAMP ON YOUR FRONT LAWN OR AT THE CHURCH?? ANY WAY CAN PEOPLE HELP ME WHERE I MAY FIND A PLACE TO SLEEP FOR THE NIGHT!!!!

I LOOK FOWARD TO MEEETING YOU THERE AND ARLO IT WOULD BE A TREMENDOUS JOY IN KRISTYN AND MY LIFE IF WE CAN GET A COUPLE OF PICTURES TOGETHER SINCE WE HAVE BEEN JOURNALING OUR LIFE TOGETHER AND YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD A PART OF MY HEART AND I HAVE SEEN YOU IN LOS ANGELES, CERRITOS, SAN DIEGO AND NOW I AM GOING TO SEE YOU AT THE CHURCH. BY THE WAY I SAW ALICE'S RESTURANT AT A MOVIE THEATER LAST YEAR AND THE WOMAN WHO PLAYED ALICE SPOKE AFTER THE SHOWING. IT WAS "GROOVY"

ANYWAY I HOPE ALL OF YOU CAN HELP ME FIND A PLACE FOR OUR 33 YEAR OLD BODIES TO REST lol lol

BEST REGARDS AND HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!

ALAN

Alan, I've been trying to cope with this problem also. There are some motels that still have rooms available, but their rates are close to $200 per night.

There are several campgrounds in the area you can call. They are $25 per night. The closest one is around 5 minutes from The Church but the site is extremely small, meaning you can set up a 10x10 tent, but have to park the car out in their field. That camground's called Prospect Lake Park.

A few others are located about 1/2 hour from The Church. I know that Mountain View has a few sites left.

You can probably buy a cheap tent somewhere that folds neatly into a bag for easy carrying onto planes. Unless you are very tall, a 6x6 or 8x8 would probably work.

The only reason we ended up not grabbing one of the few remaining campsites is because AFTER I made all the calls and got prices and square-footage, Lance found out he can't take off Friday the 2nd for the drive up there.

The general rule of thumb is... as soon as Arlo posts dates, get on the phone or Internet and book your room. We've had our October reservations since last January.

Try Barrington Court Motel, they're friendly. It's within 5 minutes of the church. Mention The Guthrie Center and that's why you're calling. They're friendly folks... and tell 'em Sue sent you. 413-528-2340

Howdy Alan,I hope you do find something closer ;)
Would you please repost this at the "Group W" boards,it would be the more appropiate place for this, you could post there under "Moose Friends".I,m sure you get some more help there if Terrie or Sue,s plan do not work out.
The "Group W" boards link/button can be found at the top of the main page. Thanks, peace
