I don't have the complete set list ... Sarah Lee & Johnny opened the concert with a great set of their own ... Wow! The last time we saw them in 2001, Sarah Lee seemed like a little girl. She is a real presence now and has a wonderful voice! Then Arlo came out and played several of his hits -- City of New Orleans, Coming Into Los Angeles, etc. He did some new songs (the names of which I can't remember) and a great version of "Me & Bobby McGee."
Arlo was having some trouble with his voice -- sounded like he had a cold or something. And he said he's looking forward to playing in Florida later this week and seeing his wife again.
Everyone was digging his between-song banter and the excellent music -- Abe looked happy doing his keyboard deal. Besides Sarah Lee, Johnny and Abe they were accompanied by another guitarist (pedal steel guitar?) and a drummer ... both of whose names I've forgotten. I know, I should take a pen and paper and take notes. Next time ... I promise!
A real highlight for us was after the show ... Arlo came out to meet people and sign autographs. My wife got her Arlo tshirt autographed and I got his signature on the cover of his "Amigo" CD. Then I gave Arlo a hug because I felt like it and he looked like he needed a hug, he hugged me back and said "cool shirt" about my old tye-dyed tshirt.
Our grandson is going to see him on Wednesday (or is it Thursday?) at Epcot. I hope he enjoys that concert as much as we enjoyed tonight's show!
