Just wanted to say thanks to Arlo, Abe & Gordon (if you guys happen to read this ....) for a fabulous night in Melbourne last night !!

Great songs, great stories, great playing, great venue ..... everything we expected & more.

It's 20 years since I last saw you play - and you are better now than then. You all seemed to be having heaps of fun.

I can't believe there were so few people there (can't have been much more than 500 or 600) but that was really cool - sorta like our own private little show !!

It was a perfect evening to drive away the blues from a crappy day at work .....

Thanks for sharing your talent with us ...... hope we see you back here soon !!

Cheers

Dave & Jan

WOW! What a treat it was to see and hear Arlo in Melbourne last night. My first opportunity to do so and I’m so glad I had that opportunity.

I can’t remember two hours disappearing so quickly. The songs, the stories, the atmosphere made it a truly special time.

I heard some songs I hoped I would and some that I hadn’t expected which were great surprises - I really enjoyed them all.

My wife and I sat in the second row and it really was an intimate venue. I love going to see and hear guys who are the ‘real deal’ – guys who can capture your attention and imagination with nothing more than their presence, stories, songs and a guitar.

Arlo – thanks for making the effort to come to Australia. I’m sure you don’t need to do it – you probably have more than enough people close to home that want to hear you, so the fact that you could be bothered coming means a whole lot.

Now – for those who like set lists. This is what I can remember – and one or two I’m guessing the title.

Set One

Chilling of the Evening
Okalahoma Hills
St. James Infirmary
When the Ship Comes In
Motorcycle Song
Haleiwa Blues
Portland Town
Coming into Los Angeles

Set Two

Green Green Rocky Road
In My Darkest Hour
Last To Leave
City of New Orleans
Alice (the short, but equally entertaining version)
Me & Bobby McGhee
My Old Friend
This Land is Your Land

Encore One

Highway In The Wind
Instrumental – lot of fun

Encore Two

Nobody Knows You When Your Down & Out (this was really good)

Thanks Arlo - wonderfull stuff. I do hope you come back this way again.
