Did anyone keep a setlist? How about telling us about the shows even without a setlist? How was the food? C'mon, what did I miss?

You missed some great shows, Terrie! I didn't keep a setlist. Since I was working in the kitchen, I was happy if I caught whole sets. Blunderites are very big eaters, you know, and they love those avacado and sprouts sandwiches and cheese and fruit platters. And, of course, the cookies! :) I know John C kept a setlist Saturday night, and that there were some different tunes played each night. My favorite was "Me and Bobby McGee", 'cos I'd never heard Arlo sing it before. Wow! Also "Last to Leave", "Me and My Goose", "Patriot's Dream", "Slow Boat", that great "pickin'" jam they do, "You and Me", and on, and on...........

Let's see ...
Set 1
Oklahoma Hills (? one of Woody's)
St. James Infirmary
Leave the Blues (? instrumental)
Mr. Tamborine Man (WHAT A GREAT ONE!!)
The Last to Leave
Ragtime song of Woody's
Brooklyn ?? (one of Darrol Adams songs)
Coming into Los Angeles

Set 2
Proised Land
Come on Children (I know that's not the real name)
Patriot's Dream
Old Friends (GREAT SONG!!!)
instrumental dedicated to his friends in Hawaii (WHAT WAS THE NAME??)
Me and Bobby Magee (WHOA!!!)
My Old Friend
This Land is Your Land

Encore
a great jammin' song
one other that I can't remember the name

It was nice to hear him on the piano!!!

That's the best I can remember. The others who were there can help me out with some of the titles!!!

here goes my best shot:

he opened with Chilling of the Evening

and I don't remember any order, but to add to the list

City of New Orleans
St. Louis Tickle, I think is the ragtime tune Cyndy mentioned
Highway in the Wind (part of encore?)

It was an incredible experience to be at the Church -- I'll be back in October. Food was great -- we had a cheese platter -- yum! Don't think there were any bagels Terrie -- if the western Mass bagels are anything like the eastern Mass bagels, I suggest you bring your own in Oct. And the cookies, as I've heard, were incredibly yummy :D

peace and love,

Bagels? OK, you got it! When I brought them in May, no one ordered any on Friday. So Arlo said, "you need lox." Saturday night, there was fresh lox! I brought sesame, plain and "everything" and they sold!

I'm also thinking about brownies. Maybe I'll have Corey help me bake a batch for Saturday and give one to Arlo... see if he likes them enough for me to bake a few batches for October.

What a great idea! Everyone loves brownies!

How does one go about helping out at one of the shows? I would love to work in the kitchen (or take out the trash).

peace and love,

Different people volunteer. Sherry told me last year that only those who have volunteered in the past can volunteer for an October show. I don't know if that holds anymore now that George is in charge. And there's a limit as to how many people Arlo can have inside the building. Wyld, Sue, Diana and I worked in the itchen, Jennie handled the register and someone else sold CDs, books & T-shirts. I guess you'd have to call George at the GC to find out.

We had bagles this weekend! I think only one person ordered one on Saturday, but they were very popular on Sunday. And egg salad sandwiches were popular on Saturday, but only one person ordered one on Sunday. I don't know why. I wonder if it was a demographic thing.

Judy, were they Lender's frozen, or NY bagels? Is it worth it for me to bring bagels in Oct? Was there lox?

They weren't Lender's...and I'd talk to George before I brought bagels in...he's got his own ideas about what he thinks is acceptable. He's put a lot of thought and energy into making the menu absolutely wonderful and yummy. We did have lox...I saw Wyldflower making lox and bagels.

Hi, Sue. I'm happy for you that you were able to make such a long drive so soon after surgery. I always ask before I bring anything, and the GC is no different. george and I discussed the bagels last time. I agree with that article recently written about the GC and George's management of it, I think he's running a tight show in the kitchen.

Sue, please give me your email address and I'll send you some pics of you at the GC in May.
