What a great night. Arlo and New Jersey, perfect together.
Luckily the guy with the big head fit right in the space between Arlo and Sarah Lee so I could see fine.
Just a nice laid back homey show. The nature of the place, being on the boardwalk, some of the people didn't know who they were coming to see so it seemed some his comments weren't really understood. But the music was universal and the mood was very nice.

Now if they only hadn't set the air conditioner(refigeration unit) at what must have been in the fifties I would've been able to hear better.Chattering teeth don't keep a very good beat.

It was nice meeting you Terrie!

Diane, it was great finally meeting you. I know we've tried in the past and it never seemed to work out, glad it did last night.

Corey and I had a wonderful time at the OC show. She was reluctant to go at all, but the thought of sun, sand, surf lured her. We had just gotten off the beach when Diane called and I realized she hadn't reserved her tickets yet. Corey and I walked up to the box office, picked up our tickets and called Diane back to let her know they still had a few left. Then we walked across the boards to get ice for my ever-present Gatorade and who should we run into, eating a pizza all alone? Yep, our very own folkslinger! We chatted for a few minutes, he asked Corey if she was dragged here by her mom. Corey said, no... she's here for the beach. I raised an honest kid, huh?

After meeting up with Diane, I went looking for Beryl and Howie. Along the way, we found Sue! So we hung out a bit and then I went back to my Beryl-Howie search. Found them sitting on a bench at the pier (the one place I hadn't thought to look). Turns out they'd been sitting there for several hours, talking to Gordon and Sarah Lee. We also saw Abe walk across the boards with Serena.

Showtime! Freezing cold inside, very crowded. SarahLee looked great and her voice gets stronger and more self-assured every day! Gordon said after the show that his shoulder was still hurting. Mike was in a good mood last night, as was Lisa. They were working the merchandise table. We hung out with Dan for a bit during intermission and again after the show.

* Notes on When a Soldier Makes it Home

1. While on the beach earlier, Corey was telling me about a friend of hers, Zack, who's been stationed in Afghanistan for awhile (hopefully coming home in October). I told her about the song and that maybe he'll sing it tonight. I was very happy he did.

2. He forgot the words! And, it seemed for real, too. Sarah Lee ran backstage to get a CD insert so he could read the words, then realized that even with his glasses the print was too small, and HE's the one who made the print that small LOL I know he sometimes "forgets" words or where he is in a song, but this time I think it was for real.

While Sarah Lee was getting the words for him, they did their pickin' and she got back in time to do her part in it.
