Hi Eric,

I, too, just returned from the Rochester concert. It is my first time to hear Arlo in concert, though I've long been a fan. What a great time it was this evening. Makes me wish I lived in MA! Thanks for the list!

Jean

Wow. I had a marvelous time at the Rochester concert last night! My friend and I drove 5 hours from central Wisconsin to come see him. We got there a little bit early, and as we were walking across the skywalk from the parking ramp to the Civic Center, we spotted a huge burgundy coach bus outside. We were thinking that by chance it might be Arlo's, so we went outside, and took a picture of it. We then whipped out our awesome "WE DIG ARLO" banner and hung around for awhile. The only other thing outside was a catering truck, catering in for that wedding down in the reception hall, and we didn't see any sign of Arlo.

So we went through the halls to the Presentation hall and hung out there awhile to see if they'd opened the doors yet, but no luck.

All of a sudden this nice lady came running up to her husband and was talking about how she met up with Arlo in the hallway and got to give him a kiss. How exciting! So holding on to our banner we wizzed through the halls looking for Arlo. No luck. Sadness.

We decided to go back outside and sit out on the picnic table across from the bus with our sign, just incase Arlo would be in his bus or something.

All of a sudden my friend Natalie pokes my arm and says "OH MY GOSH I THINK THAT'S ARLO RIGHT ALONG SIDE OF THE CATERING TRUCK!!" So I looked over there, and sure enough...it was Arlo!! We sat there for a few moments contemplating just what we should do, until finally we got up and walked over there...still proudly holding our banner.

He saw us decked out in our awesome tiedyed "I DIG ARLO" shirts, and the fabulous canvas sign I painted that read "WE DIG ARLO", with a little red VW bus on it, and he laughed. I was freaking hyperventilating.

We got to talk to him for about 5-10 minutes, which was really exciting. We then asked if we could get our picture taken with him, and he was really cool with it and put his arms around us! AH.

After the fabulous show he signed our ticket stubs and my program. :)

Sorry the story is so long, but I really had to tell!!

I thought I might also add in a wonderful picture of my bus, in which I named after Mr. Guthrie. :)

It's kind of blurry, but that's just the scanners little problem, gah.

Small world, eh?

I must take the time to gloat, that I had amazing seats. Second row, almost at the center aisle. Awesome.

This was the first time I saw Arlo, and I have little concert-going experience (Only been to about seven...a result of my youth and the fact that, the last few months excepted, Roch is a terrible town for concerts). It was a great show. This setlist will be useful, because I'm doing a review of it for the Rochester Community and Technical College newspaper The Echo. The editors will refuse to run it but I will write it anyway. Because that's just the way I am. :)
