I couldn't let this day go by without mentioning that today IS the 10th of January!! Arlo - I'm glad you didn't let this one get away and go to someone else. :D It might be my favorite song you sing (but I'd be hard-pressed to admit that since there are SO many that fit that category). Thanks for ALL you do, Arlo. ALso, I am SO glad that you are taking advantage of some much-needed R & R ... we ALL need it fom time to time.

Lastly, thanks for being you. :D 8) You brighten my day.

You know, I didn't sleep as well as usual last night. Woke up early. I think I must be "conditioned" by the song after so many years of listening to it and loving it.

well between remembering todd's birthday yesterday, and that today is the 10th of January, who could get any sleep???? I know I was starin' at the clock way past 3AM...
Arlo - to put it in better perspective... do you remember WHICH 10th of January it was? or do you need us to pass the brain cell to do that kind of remembering?

Didn't realize until this morning that it was Arlo's fault! I woke up hourly, on the 20: 1:20, 2:20, 3:20, 4:20 ...

Amazing, really... that none of us got much sleep last night. And my daughter says I have no life!

It's the 4:20 one that changes everything!

I dunno Cheryl, I think you mght be reading too much into this Jan. 10th thing. I'll bet you just got up because you had to pee. :)

Speaking of getting up early, I've noticed that adg seems to be up posting kinda early in the morning for a guy that works nights. And somehow, I can't really picture him down there in Florida freezing his ass off stuffing little twigs into the Franklin stove.......so it can't be that.

thanks for bringing that up! That's my favorite song and the one I was so thrilled to hear in Chicago back in October.

I didn't get much sleep last night either, but I'm not sure if it was the song or a fussy toddler that did it for me :D Much more fun to blame it on the song.

That's definitely my excuse! Once I turned 40, I always said that it's very important to get to bed at a fairly decent hour, so I can wake up & pee.

Since I began this thread early this morning ... I now realize that I , too, was up a lot last night -- 12:40, 2:40, 4:40 ..what is it with the "40"?? (yes some of the times WERE to pee!!)

I have to add this for blunderite enjoyment. My daughter (14) has her first boyfriend (16). In an effort to impress the MOM (me) .. he was here and looked at my computer screen (which happens to have a picture of Arlo and I) -- he says to me "Oh! I've seen that guy before ... LOTS of times!!" I can't help myself and have to ask .. "Yeah? Really? Where??" He's always SKATEBOARDING in Rosendale (a town close to us!)"
I couldn't help myself -- I had this visual image of Arlo skateboarding .. then I had to leave, laughing ridiculously. My daughter KNEW that Arlo was NOT skateboarding or I would be there watching!!

Just thought I'd pass that along ...

Cyndy, Cheryl swears that there's an Arlo-clone out there... one of them wears black sock, the other white.... I don't recall which is which... but maybe, just maybe it was the Arlo-clone who your daughter's bf sees skateboarding!

As for the up in the middle of the night stuff, this turning 50 sure has its faults... like not sleeping well regardless of if it's the 10th of January or not... oh, yeah, and that middle of the night having to go downstairs to pee, what's that one all about? Because I got older, my bladder got smaller?

And, Arlo... what was that about 4:20 making all the difference? Am I just tired from a very long day or is it really "darkest" just before dawn?
