Arlo is coming to my town this month(longview Wa) My sixteen year old daughter and I are going together.Am I allowed to bring a camera? ?????

Nothing says you can't bring it, you just may not be able to use it during the show. At least not with a flash. Sometimes a venue will announce before the show that "for this performance only" you can photograph.

However, always hang around after the show for Arlo's meet and greet. Usually inside, but sometimes outside at the bus, sometimes both Cameras come in handy then!

I called the Columbia PAC and they say no Photography...I'm taking my camera, though.

Most places wont allow cameras.....if they catch you.

I got a couple pics after a show outside by the bus....if you can get to the bus. At the englewood nj sho the bus was in the public parking lot behind the theater. at morristown nj it was backed in down the driveway with no way to get to it.

After a concert I hang out and watch the crew break down. I dont know why, I just find it interesting and am interested in the workings of shows. The first time I met him I was amazed that he just came out and sat on the stage to BS with people after the show.

Im used to concert halls, security and metal detectors. Nice to know at least one muscician I met appreciates the fans.

Arlo doesn't seem to mind as long as folks don't sell copies of the pics. Sadly some of the concert places do mind which is a shame. I hate them being so stupid about it. It's just a picture which is a part of our memories of the show lol. So if a concert place doesn't allow ya to take pics at a show, I sneak & take em without flash. Whenever I got caught the few times I did, I played stupid & acted like I didn't know & they asked me not to take anymore. So at least a few pics was better than none. If I don't use flash the pics come out really bad tho. Yikes. After the shows the places don't mind. Have fun at the shows!

I was at Mohegan Sun 2 years ago to see INDIGENOUS at the stage in the casino. Not the theater, a stage int he middle of the casino. Well I had a camera and went to take a photo and the tour manager came running over and said NO ZOOM LENSES. ???????????

I used it when he wasnt looking tho because that is just idiotic.

At his concert in Springfield, MO last month, some took pics, but they weren't supposed to. It's the flash thing. I received some pics from a great lady that was there and she took them w/o flash...came out super...don't know what she used tho. As long as you don't need to use flash, I really don't see how anyone would even know..let alone care.

After the concert, Arlo did two encores...could have done three as the audience gave him 3 standing ovations...and then the crew came out to break it all down. I thought "Well, thats it" and followed the crowd out...like a dummy. Found out later he did come out, signed and chatted...LOL I even "rehearst" what I was gonna say...altho I know that would have gone out the window big time....LOL!!!!

.....since i started doing photography more regularly again in the last few years and more professionally (still recreationally at concerts).....it's made me deal with the relationship between the photographer and who/what is the photgraphee ... can that be a word?... i love my zoom lens for alot of reasons, but realize that sometimes it can be intrusive.....especially when you're already close (e.g. in the 2nd row of a concert) and when you're doing candid shots.....course in the 12th row, it looks like you were in the 2nd........but all in all it's made me more sensitive to how i use the lens in certain circumstances......so i guess that could be one reason for no zoom lenses!!....

...tho i think it must have been pretty funny to hear....

If it makes anyone feel any better it doesent bother Arlo on stage as far as the camera flash goes. I took some pictures a few years ago at Greensboro, NC and after the show I asked Arlo if it was a pain to perform with camera flashes going off. He basically said it was no bother. He may have been trying to be nice about it, who knows? After all he is about the only musician, or star of any caliber that will actually set aside time to do meet and greets at most of his shows. Sometimes I felt a bit sorry for him as some fans tend to be a bit bothersome. I always try to be as polite and quick as possible the times I have wanted to get an album signed or whatnot. You just know the man wants to relax for the evening same as you or I would after a days slavery. It must be great to have FUN for a living but I know it is just as tireing as any other job.

I wonder what Arlo's viewpoint on recording at shows is. Anybody know?
