Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant 40th Anniversary Massacree Tour
Wednesday, June 15, 7:00 - 8:30pm, Nelson A. Rockefeller Park
In celebration of the 40th anniversary release of the seminal album "Alice’s Restaurant", legendary folk singer and prolific wordsmith Arlo Guthrie performs the album from start to finish. Based on true events, the album speaks of the triumphant little man against the political machine. For this special performance, The Mammals, often referred to as subversive acoustic traditionalists,
will open the show.

I'll be there wearing an Arlo t-shirt and toting my camera. Hope we get to say hello.

I don't, but my recording came out very nicely and will be available within the next couple days most likely. Then you can transcribe your heart out. ;)

Will either of you be at The Church? I'd love to meet you... and I'd also like to own a copy of the 40th anniversary shows.

Nice job on the setlist Musicsherlock! (I might be interested in a copy of the show also) Here's a few of my observations...

The Mammals are Tao Rodrequez-Seeger, Ruth Ungar, Mike Merenda, Chris Merenda, and Jay Silver. They openned with a few "fiddle tunes"
Hook And Line
Martha Campbell
Yellow Barber

Chan Chan (lead vocal Tao)
Tahoe (New song by Mike)
Railroad Boy
Ball And Chain
Satisfied Mind (Gordon on mandolin)
Fall On My Knees
Arcadian Two Step (instrumental)

Before introducing Arlo a NY State Parks Dept. official noted it had recently come to the agency's attention that Arlo had expressed a desire to be a park ranger so on behalf of Gov. Pataki and Parks Commissioner Bernadette Castro, Arlo was presented with a hat and made an honorary NYS Park Ranger. He seemed really tickled.

Arlo was joined on-stage for Alice by Gordon-guitar, Chris-drums, and Jay-bass. It began to rain during Alice, "I didn't [plan on singing in the rain this afternoon, but if it works for you it works for me-adg"
By the time Alice was done so was the rain. All the Mammals joined for the balance of Arlo's set.

At the Get Stuff table a Massacree 40th Anniversary poster and key fob were available.

Had a great time hanging out with Nancy and Deb Smith, along with some folks I had met at the HD Walk. Talked with a woman who was there because several members of her family have HD and she was aware of Arlo's involvement in the search for a cure. Arnie, It would have been a hoot to hook up.

Being a Blunderite is... taking a sick day to attend a show, and having your supervisor hand you the newspaper story about it.
