I just got a rather excited phone call from the banks of the Guadelupe river down Texas about the Kerrville show and hearing Alices Resteraunt live and in concert. My brother says he got a recording of the show! looking forward to getting to hear it! Apparantly the entire family was there and they were most impressed with Sarah's group as well! The Texas Jewboy showed up as part of a campaign appearence (Kinky wants to be the first Jewboy governor of the great state of Texas), Any other reports since the song has reappeared in the repertoire?

Jay and I just got home a little while ago from Austin. We were at AliceFest (at Alice's Restaurant in Niederwald, Texas) on Thursday, with Ken and Sherry, Shirley, Connie and Chuck, and Baldwinville. (Chuck and Connie saw the Guthries at Kerrville the next night; the rest of us couldn't.) AliceFest was a great show and a unique one--who has ever seen Arlo in a venue where there were cows on the other side of the fence? It was HOT until the sun went down, but well worth the water loss. Arlo had the crowd (of course) in the palm of his hand even before he did a flawless "Alice's Restaurant" (40th anniversary style) to kick off the 40th anniversary Alice's Tour. Abe and Gordon, Sarah Lee and Johnny, Olivia, and Cathy were all there. Sarah Lee and Johnny were there with full band and were outstanding. It may not have been Kerrville but on a different scale it probably was just as exciting. And a lot less crowded.
