In typical Arlo fashion, it was a great show in Roanoke, VA. I always enjoy Gordon and Abe when they travel with Arlo. Kinda missed Sara Lee and Johnny but did enjoy the Mammals. They are incredible young foks. Won't make the Charlottesville show but know it too will be great.

I'll second that!! The show was superb. I guess we got revenge for the last Roanoke show because this year was 10 times better. Even Arlo mentioned the last time being a bomb. To me it was the venue and the crowd both that sucked a couple of years ago at Roanoke Civic Center. It was not Arlo and Co. Of course with Folk Music if something kills the spirit sometimes everyone suffers and I think that happened.

This time I came alone (Jimi Hendrix tie die). I think I was the only idot there with binoculars. Kinda felt like one at least. With Arlo in particular you are missing a lot if you can't watch his facial expressions and other mannerisms.

By the way I also noticed that Arlo's voice sounded exceptionally well. Maybe it was the whole Alices Restaurant thing but it was out of sight!

Special thanks to Arlo and the Mammals for a fairly extended meet and greet after the show. Arlo is so very patient with everyone. There always seems to be a few that are kind of hovering and being worrysome but I guess to him that just comes with the job.

I kind of hung around myself just glad to be around fellow fans and listen to all the interesting conversation. Hell, I thought listening to Arlo talk was cool before I knew most of his music. It would be great to have just 2 hrs of conversation and 2 Guiness's with Arlo Guthrie....

Now why didn't I think about binoculars? I fussed all the way home because I didn't closer seats and my bifocals may just as well have been frosted. Getting old ain't for sissies! Bet I'll take the binoculars next time.

I think we all leave Arlo's shows wanting more, no matter how much he gives us. We're just selfish, I guess. And... he's just one of those extra-ordinary folks that come along once upon a lifetime.

Man we'd have loved to have met you guys at the shows. The venue at Roanoke sucked last time. They searched ya on the way in. This venue was so much better. I hope he comes back there. Great show as usual AG!
