Hi -
I didn't write down the set list, although I read what he played at Newport and it sounds just about the same. He was great!
After the show my pal Maggie and I stuck around and waited for him. Finally he came out, all smiles, very friendly and sweet. I gave him a copy of my new kids' book, "Puss in Cowboy Boots" (2002, Simon & Schuster) along with an article about the book from my local paper, The Hoboken Reporter. They had highlighted a quote from me saying that to write the book, I'd had to "reach deep iside and call on my inner Arlo Guthrie." I think he really liked that! Then I gave him a big hug! What a sweetheart!
Now I've hugged Arlo, Joni, John Sebastion, & Dan Bern! Gee, I feel a little like Bill Clinton! ;-)

Wow you've hugged some great men! Cool to see that you are also a Dan Bern fan. I always have thought of Dan being very much influenced by the works of Arlo.

Yeah, I'm a big Dan fan! In fact, I gave him a copy of my book, too, because I named the main (human) character after him! I've seen him many times in concert, he's really great and, like Arlo, a wonderfully sweet guy.
