Show notes:
Talk about a tough crowd! Arlo played the Peachtree City Amphitheater on Saturday September 7th, 2002. His appearance was part of a 5 show subscription concert series, where the brie and brioche baby boomers come to hear their favorites (acts such as the Beach Boys, America, Ray Charles, etc). A beautiful night in a sold out 2300 seat open air amphitheater, and (rare for this time of year) no humidity!

Warmup act was very good, a folk rock duo who got the crowd stoked doing drinking songs and finishing with folk-rock covers of Led Zepplin (!!). Crowd was buzzed when Arlo came out, along with Abe. Crowd reaction was noticeably flat through the first three songs, though. St. James Infirmary woke the crowd back up. Arlo seemed to respond, started telling long funny stories, and a lot of the yee-haw element of the crowd settled down. Arlo apologized for not having Sara Lee with him, noting she had recently given birth and wasnt up to travelling just yet.

Arlo appeared to be genuinely enjoying himself as the show progressed, turned in an extraordinary 2 and 1/4 hr show. It was the first time I'd seen him in concert, but you could tell he was definitely "on".

A good time was had by all.
