Well, the show at the Hyde School last night was great! John said he's gonna post the set list, so I'll just say it was wonderful to be there in a really nice venue with an audience that was totally into the show. It was just Arlo and Abe last night, since Sarah, Johnny, and Olivia are still touring Europe. They both wore all black, Cheryl. We ended up with a spare ticket, which we sold to a girl who was a student at the school. She had never heard of Arlo Guthrie, but her folks told her she should really try to go see him, and she actually listened to them. She sat next to me, and it was fun to watch her as she watched the show. She was smiling, laughing, leaning forward with interest, and having a good time in general. She said she was surprised at how much she liked him--she hadn't expected to. She was just doing what her folks said. She said he didn't sound like what she thought a folksinger would sound like. I tried to explain to her that it's sort of a relative thing, that different people have different ideas about what folksingers should sound like. I don't know if she understood me or not, but she thought he sounded more like a rock singer. She cut out fast after the encore, and I never did catch her name, but it was fun to sit next to someone young who was experiencing Arlo (and Abe) for the first time.

The show was FANTABULOUS!!!! I enjoyed it very much. Abi had a great time being 6 and seeing her first Arlo show, clapping along and singing and giggling, and is out in the yard showing all her friends her Arlo autograph.<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> She told my Dad this morning that Arlo has his own Sharpie marker!
Judy and John it was nice to meet you and I hope next time I will be able to chat a little bit.

Hey, I just remembered something else the girl sitting next to me said about Arlo. She said she thought some of his songs reminded her of Cat Stevens. I gave her a semi-quizzled look, and said "Well, same era. Sure."
