I saw Slade a few times in my youth. In a small club with my hands over my ears at times once, while a guy went around with a decibel meter to see how much damage they were doing. It actually hurt! But, we loved it anyway.

Yeah, Slade had out the original version of Cum On & Feel The Noize before Quiet Riot did. I think they were British but don't qupte me on that. You don't hear of Slade much these days...

laurie anderson's language is a virus...that always intrigued me (that is not arrogance speaking, it is more like curiosity) is it along the lines of, this or that kind of propoganda is jamming the airwaves? i remember her from your previous postings...starkey's day is another one i liked.

the other day i was listening to bob dylan's 115th dream...

the first time i heard highway 61 i had to laugh? "next time you see me coming you better run?" ... i wish i could have seen that outfit you had on!

i remember seeing that sonny terrie and brownie macgee burnt child clip once before.
it is one of those songs...kind of sad...i guess that is why it is called the blues...anyway, fairly recently (kinda sorta) i discovered the pogues cover of maggie may with shane singing...i think they do a great job of it! shane just puts so much into it...all around beautifully done i think! blast that shane for tugging at my heart like that! anyway, it is another one of those songs i guess, so i will put it here as well, i hope you like it too, i wanted to post it somewhere in good company!

Kottke was a legend in the day. He has/has (dunno) a unique offbrand 12-string as I remember (a Bozo?). My teacher was very critical of the style though being something of a NotFan of open tunings for classical guitar pieces when Kottke's Jesu was popular.

I still use a 12-string Rick on demos but I gave the acoustic 12s up for live long ago. Too hard to keep tuned on stage without a tech and fingertip razors. Love the sound though.

I'm new here although I've been bloggin' Arlo vids lately. This being an Arlo site, and he my hero from way way back when it was Arlo Or Dylan, not meant to dwell on my stuff.

Many thanks for keeping this site alive! Hope to find some friends here.

You know Len (welcome!, by the way) Arlo has recently been using a "big blue" 12 string that's made out of some kind of carbon-fiber composite material. Not being sublect to the stresses of temperature and humidity, these guitars stay in tune pretty consistantly. I played a 6 string model of one of these at my local music store (can't remember the name of the manufacturer, me not remembering stuff becoming a way of life for me these days) and I was very impressed with the sound quality. Maybe give it a try?

Thanks Dave! Any range for the price and dealer for that axe?
I'm a studio rat songwriterr though. Not much live these days. Age and stuff. :-)

I'm reading the religious thread. To discover one of one's heroes hearts is exactly as his voice was is a wonderful happening.

I'm a musician first, and a real-time 3D virtual reality artist.
If you want to make the Guthrie Center world wide in that medium,
it's easy. "Pick up your prize."

It would be fun.

Folks get the Wizard and I confused all the time......we are so much alike, especially when it comes to politics! But I truly love Dave, so I'll take it as a compliment.......

OWATAGOOSIAM! Sorry Kevin. I was reading the lists while trying to flush out the barium smoothies so not exactly focused.

On the other hand, I was walking through walls, shooting snot from my wrists, and my spidey sense was tingling every time the talking heads discussed politics.

I'm much better today.

Sunday morning music for the contemplation of the Great Monad. Narcissus looking in the pond and seeing the reflection of a God or of the great Atum wanking and spewing the seed of life onto the temple floor in a massive creation of wisdom for the ages or maybe the progeny of fools?

Or in the words of Buddha and Jesus and so forth and so on

Seems that the world is one big soul
It looks that way to me

(Sam is another famous Okie, well Okie... On a side note, I have an old worn copy of John Hartfords Morning Bugle that I was lucky enough to have John autograph for me about twenty years ago...The bass player in back of Sam is David Holland who played Bass on John's Morning Bugle Album...I don't know why I think of this stuff?))

(coffee is gone, gotta go)

Have you seen the photos where drawings of Akhenaten and Obama are compared?

People are a bit in the tank.
