Ain't it the truth. I can't believe I misspelled "strawberry" Why is it that drug addicts always call in the middle of the night asking for help to get into rehab? Yes, I know that is a rhetorical question. But here I am and have been, all Sunday morning, trying to get one particular drug addict into a safe place in the wilds of Kentucky while I'm 12 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. That's one thing I'm strangely talented at doing. But it's like jamming --- making it up as you go along, trying to understand and anticipate what the other players are doing, and hoping it all works out harmoniously..........

And I can't believe I left out the word "be" in my sentence! I blame it on the sleep too.
Every jam session I've been involved with ended terribly because we were all such inexperienced musicians when it happened.

Ha! And I didn't even notice the "be" omission. Remember, even jam sessions that don't turn out as well as you'd like are good ones, 'cuz you're listening and learning and yearning and bouncing energy all over the freakin' place. Jamming is one of the best ways get where you're going.......

I dunno, maybe you already do this, but I do it when I don't have anyone handy to play with. Today, for instance, I jammed with Eric Clapton for a while, then with Arlo. Well, not exactly in person, you understand. I put on Clapton's "Unplugged" DVD, then Arlo's "Son of the Wind" CD and, ya' know, just jammed with 'em. I learn alot this way, and also have a heck'uv alot of fun!

Used to do that when I was more into the heavier stuff like AC/DC and I jammed along to Back in Black the best I could. I'd try to do the same with Arlo, but I'm not much for chords (born with a deformity on my fretting hand that impedes my ability to play most chords. Plus, I've been having a hell of a time trying to play these past couples days because I recently gave myself a nasty cut on my index finger while whittling). Clapton I could probably follow along with some of his stuff and jam to.

I was in a one-man band on several occassions that fell apart due to irreconcilable differences. That, and the fact that we were all moving in different musical directions

Guilty as charged your honor. I've also been a begginer on guitar for something like 36 years now. As mikey said, I did play hockey, but now only coach. Most of my musical contributions these days come from sitting behind the sound board at our weekly acoustic music series.

Couldn't do it...I hate soundboards. The past couple years I was forced to work the soundboard at the school I graduated from during productions because I was the only student in a school of 900 who was taught how to use it. I hated making adjustments on microphones soo much.

I enjoy the job, most of the time. I get to use my offstage name, Larry the unsound sound guy.
And Kevin, of course I took it as a compliment!

I play at playing. I won't touch the soundboard. Can't fake that.

I'd rather work on a light board, but I still can work my way around audio such as setting up all the stuff and installing new hardware..just would rather not have to be the guy who has to change the EQ throughout performances. That annoys me soo much.

2 out of my 4 years at my high school I was the go-to guy if things messed up on the stage. Freshman and Sophomore year my brother was there and he was the go-to guy so whatever he knew how to do I had him teach me, and then I learned how to do some stuff he didn't know after he graduated.
