If you think explaing arlo.net is hard ... wait until you try to explain our religion of selective obliviosity .... (hail homer, hail marge, hail, hail the gang's all here).

I do so beg to differ, Arnie, I am a proud native Californian, myself! & I could be met, in a dark alley...well, if I was there, that is, and you too, of course..I mean if you were to meet me,.....uh oh, this is starting to sound like a Larry set-list..!
"They sounded great, i have no idea who was on stage, they came & went"

Ogden Nash once penned.....

Leap with joy, be blythe abd gay,
or hang your head in sorrow
What California is, today,
the rest will be, tomorrow

have you tried the new mango/sushi slurpee....Hmmm? have ya?

Fan, Arnie, Bumper, try Texas! You cannot imagine the harassment and negativity. You just learn not to tell anyone you don't completely trust.

If you must, then first, trust them with all your passwords and your bank account number. Then, tell them your personal philosophy. Then back that up by telling them about arlo.net. They'll still hang you out to dry.

It doesn't matter. When the whole bloody mess of a day is over and I've seen the evening news, you all are here, and the world is okay.

Seriously, Fan, the chances of your knowing someone in 3D who does understand are probably slim, unless you already had some pretty deep understanding. Don't waste the energy. If the first and second responses are vague, just drop it and check in here. We're always glad to see you!

Ceashel

Oh, me, too, Cheryl. I was talking about outside the cocoon. Cliffite and I do have each other. And there are others around, as Stew and Pamram know. But just in general, people aren't going to "get it."

Haaaahaaaa haaa haaaaaaaa hhhaaaaaaaa heee heeeee heee heeeeeeee heeee

geez bumper, you do make me giggle... "native californian"!!!! heee heee heee haaa haaaaaa!!!!

ahem... seriously bump, unless you're a descendent of Zorro, I doubt you're much of a "native" anything...

The standard derisive comment heard in LA is "oh? you're from back east?", which just amplifies the underlying reality that the speaker is desparately trying to HIDE his/her east coast origins... just a form of west coast revisionism...
of course... it could be worse... you could be a native canadian in disguise!

Wow!! Thanx for all this!! yes ok, I'll stop worrying about it now ,they don't have to understand it, and they won't but that's their problem!
You're right Anna , we are all free spirits and of course the "others" don't have to be part of Blunderöand (and they won't )but of course that isn't necessary either..
One more thing : One of my friends said that the nickname fan sounded really strange , she thought someone who doesn't know me thinks that I'm a really mad person (like a psychopath, I don`t think that this is the right English expression, what she meant was someone who goes mad and kills other people...)
Ok, I'm NOT someone like that, when I registered it was the first thing that came to my mind because I'm a real fan of Arlo and 60s music... (my real name is Karolina by the way)
Man this is great (meaning arlo.net)

Oh, fan is fine. We're used to you as fan anyway, but very glad to meet you as Karolina, too. Now if you'd chosen "stalker" as your nickname, that might cause a little worry, but you didn't.

I like "Fan." Karolina is a pretty name, too. Just glad you're here.

well. of course, in a literal sense, that's true, Arnie. I'm a native Californian, in that I was born, in California! as opposed to "back east", we make qualtative distinctions, within Calif, too. I proudly proclaim that I live in Northern Cal, not SoCal. Proposals have been made, to divide the state. Should that be done, one name proposed is "Superior" and....ummmm Southern Calif.
Karolina! beaaautiful name!! I always thought German women's names were gorgeous!

That confused icon does represent me very well !! Thank you!!!(I'm thinking about copywriting it)

A "Hail Homer"! is sort of a psuedo-religious thing some of us recite to pay homage to whomever we care to pay homage to.......sort of a "bring your own God thing". However, it's also known that Homer, the sometimes alter-ego of the Wizard that runs this place, is left in charge, and we like to pay him homage from time to time. I mean Homer does represent a level of confusion approaching confusion nirvana, which many of us seek, but we don't know it because we are too confused, which might mean we HAVE reached it, but we're not sure.
In any case, I'm glad you're here, and if my little diatribe made no sense to you, you are not alone, so don't feel bad.

I think we just read the world's 1st Select Obliv, political speech!!!

some of us mong concepts, Nathen mongs insights, Larry mongs ideas well. I think Larry just anounced his candidacay, in his last post...he both leaped & mended fences...finding a generic phrasing, with specific connotation, highly astute.....

these cat herders don't miss much......
