What to do.....Well, Ceashel has presented a couple of options:

I'll pass on the videotapes. Once it's winter here, it'll be too depressing watching Dallas's weather.

A stay in the guest room sounds nice. They won't even know I'm there, just watching the weather forecasts. I've never been to Texas, but I gotta get there sometime & reconnect with my friend, Texas Jack.

One winter about 10 years ago, my pipes froze. Nobody in Pittsburgh, including plumbers, could tell me what to do, or their suggestions didn't work. Then Texas Jack told me what they do about frozen pipes in Texas. I didn't know that was a problem in Texas, but Jack's suggestion worked like a charm. I called all the plumbers around here & told' em how to do it.

Oh, yeah--we get ice storms that would curl your hair. Newbies from the north don't expect them, so it's mostly their pipes that freeze. Ask Pamram; she spent a few years here before escaping back to Michigan. She can tell you Texas ice storm stories. Bobbi's only been here a few years, so she hasn't had the "pleasure" of an ice storm, yet. She thinks we have nice winter weather.

Of course, thanks to global warming, I may be talking historically here.

If we DO get an ice storm this winter, we'll tape those reports for you, Joe. You can see your favorite meteorologist AND watch the cars with Bush stickers doing doughnuts into each other.

We've gotten some bad ice storms here in VA. The worst were the great ice storm of 1966 & the ice storm of Christmas 1998. Folks are still debating which one was the worst of the two...

Bad ice storms aren't near as bad as bad ice cream.

Omigosh ... would rather drive through a blizzard than a Texas ice storm. Picture this (been watching too many Golden Girl reruns) Cicely ... I mean Dallas, Thanksgiving Day, with drunk in-laws ALL watching Cowboys play. ICE STORM STARTS! So heavy and white it looks like snow, but NO, it's sheet ice. Option? Drive 50 miles home, on ice, past the stadium as the game lets out or spend the night with said drunk in-laws.

I drove home. That's when I started getting gray hair.

HEY hey hey, yeah ice storms are very cool, BUT have ya'll (maybe Ceas & Clif) ever experienced Thunder Snow? No, I'm serious, once in a great while in central Okla, we are lucky enough to get Thunder Snow! It's really a very interesting experience. (& it's NOT the 'Flashbacks our parents warned us about'). I just like weather, strange & wierd weather......kinda like the strange & weird gal I am! I guess! Joe, make some lyrics outta that!??

We've had thunder snowstorms around here a few times, & we certainly get ice storms, too.

Lyrics.....Hmmmmm....I love a challenge, but it takes me only about 5 minutes to make these up (as if that's not obvious!) & if it doesn't happen in 5 minutes, it ain't gonna happen. Here's as far as I got...

First I tried one to the tune of Broooose's "Thunder Road":

The thunder roars
Snowfall comes down
Livin' on top of a hill ain't no good coz
I can't get around
Roy Orbison sang for the chosen
Hey that's me but my toes are frozen

That's as far as I got. So I tried one to the tune of "Let It Snow" but could only get one verse:

The weather outside is frightenin'
And I thought I saw some lightnin'
What's comin' next, we all know
Thunder snow, thunder snow, thunder snow.

Joe, I knew i could count on ya, & I say, you are on the correct road to completing OUR song!!!! LOL!!!! Somebody PLEASE pass me the BROWNIES!!!
& I do have another idea for a song, & I need help, or a push start. O.K. about 2 yrs ago, I worked w/Adults w/Developmental Dissabilities, I was nearing my 8th year with this agency, when 1 day a young co-worker asked if I could work her shift, so she could attend a Willie Nelson concert. OF COURSE, I replied, "Everybody NEEDS to see Willie",Well in less than two weeks, I found myself FIRED, my sin was I had worked on my day off!!!! The friend, for whom I had filled in, was of course guilt striken. I got her to try to laugh it off by sayin' "We gotta write a song, w/ Willie's help" I came up w/a title 'Blame it on Willie', unfortunatly thats as far as I've gotten. This was the WORST paying, but BEST job I'd ever had, I loved it & miss those wonderful Individuals greatly, so I'd love nothing more to have a song to show this precious 24 yr old FORMER co-worker, (she quit) in protest, as did several other good folk. Ok, Joe The Ball is in your court!!!

"Blame it on Willie"

(To be sung to the tune of "Blame it on Cain" by Elvis Costello.)

Once upon a time
Willie Nelson came to town
I couldn't wait to see him coz
I always dug his soun'
For so long
Just imagine my dismay
When they scheduled me to work that night, wouldn't change it
My friend Ruthie saved the day

CHORUS:
Blame it on Willie
Oh-oh-oh please don't blame it on me
It's nobody's fault
But it all seems to be so silly

Well, Willie did a good show into the night
Sang "You're Always On My Mind" and everything was right
Oh yes it was
But little did I know what was going down at work
As he sang "On the Road Again"
I sang 'long, did a dance
Had a beer, what's the chance
That the supervisor
Would become a downsizer

REPEAT CHORUS

Once upon a time
My friend Ruthie had a job
Gave 8 years to the agency
And never was a snob
For so long
Oh she worked for me that night
Then they stepped on her face
And invoked a stupid rule
About working on your night off
How could they be so cruel
They gave her the pink slip
And showed her to the door
A crime against labor
I wanna tell Michael Moore

REPEAT CHORUS TWICE

Good one Joe..
I've just had a Blunder Connection moment...
At work today I went into another section and said to my co-workers.. "It's a beautiful day".. and of course some one grumbled "yeah too good to be here".. so I started singing "on the road again.. just can't wait to get on the road again..
Then Ronnie my co- worker said... "Didn't you hear? Willie Nelson died?" Well I turned pale and my heart stopped and I said "But they just played him on the radio and the announcer didn't say anything!!!" Then he said "He was singin' on the road again....and got run over.."
So I thought "I'm gonna talk to my Blunder Buddies and see if they think that joke is funny or not. (cos I didn't really think it was funny, what do you all think?)
Anyway, I come home, get on here and you've been taklin' about Willie!!! I call that BlunderVibes alright...

Some would say that my mind doesn't work at all.

Heck, yeah, call it our song--after all, you came up with the title---or call it your song; I don't copyright any of the crap I conjure up!

Glad you ladies liked it...and no, I don't see the humor in that joke, either.
