i was pretty sure i read about the autoharp thing around here somewhere.

guy in a record store (seems sometime around 1989 record stores just vanished? (or at least the records did)) anyway a guy at one place pointed out that rickie lee jones sang on the jamaica farewell track off the POL album

i think i actually remember seeing that george harrison skit before! (odd as that may seem) ...it is always the quiet ones (?)

It *is* always the quiet ones, and glad you enjoyed it -- George was always my favorite Beatle (saw him once in concert, when I was 15) to begin with, and when I found out he was the $$ behind Life of Brian and some other Python projects, it just tickled me (along with his willingness to make fun of himself). Plus the Traveling Wilburys...

I am confused on what point of Arlo lore, though: which Doobie Brothers album does he play autoharp on?

The Doobie Bros album was What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits. It has the hits Black Water, Another Park Another Sunday and Eyes of Silver on it. It's a good one. And Arlo makes it better...

George also funded that trippy, fantastic movie "Time Bandits".

Plus, he was the cutest (of the Beatles). IMHO.

Thanks, Cheryl H -- another day in which I learned something new.

one of my favorite george harrison tv moments is still the opening mob chase scene from hard days night when he falls down flat, i think one of the other beatles trips on him...looks like an horrific mangling accident, they get up from while laughing and continuing to run for their lives.

then again, i haven't seen that many george harrison tv moments

Glad to help with the info. That's a good album of the Doobies.

The very first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre was A Hard Days Night. Brings back memories...
