PSB, WOW, Such a great post! And as louise said, so skillfully slid the 'Password' into such a great story!

And as for 'Freebird{s}' {as an OKIE}, I'm thinkin' you skillfully, meant that as a refrence to SOME band! {however, I could be wrong, it does happen!} More times than I care to admit to!

SO, in MY Book, {which no one tends to read!}, lousie THAT is the Official Password!!!!
Amen!
And PEACE!

Actually, Agnes you have me thinking! Obviously I was already concerned about my interaction with little Kathryn when she did bring up her concerns about energy and stuff! I mean when I was a kid, attempting to talk to my father would invite a lecture on how we must do whatever we need to do to make the country strong and scientists will have the answers as long as we vote Republican (Nixon was his main man from the 50's on). The only Republican I ever heard him express doubts about was Barry Goldwater (the power of the flower I suppose). In my fathers defense though he did point to books (which he loved) and would say find your own answers. And, in the actual interaction with Kathryn, I tried to explain the “Great American Philosophical Approach” to the problem that is eventually the cost of energy as we know it will drive us into a future where energy is abundant, clean and affordable and we will all live happy peaceful and contented lives (but I couldn’t help but add a bit of my own prejudiced skepticism). Of course, there is plenty of oil in Alaska and Canada once we put the Caribou in Zoo’s, that is where they belong anyway. Of course I always point to the books and say, “that is your generations problem!” (I guess I agreed with my dad occasionally.)

I wonder how those little boys I met in Okemah in 1973 that mockingly said, ”Peace Hippies” while flashing the peace sign and running away laughing will answer their daughters questions?

“Why must every generation think their folks are square
No matter where their heads are they know dads aint there

But I must be permissive and understanding
Of the younger generation!”

Ol' John B said that!
