Tejas is a nice place to visit, but i always wear my longhorns upside down!
and Cornbread is the versatile food in the world, now Ruthie you can call it down home, but I can recall a time when smashin conebread up in butter milk to a nice textured slurry and eatin it with fresh green onions and radishes with a side of home grown green beans and new potatoes was just considered generally good eatin', Now if that ain't country, you can kiss my

Oh by the by.....we just got to see "No Direction Home" on TV here. Marty did good eh! Strange but good to see Bob just sitting and talking. They're showing "Don't Look Back" next week. Gosh haven't seen that since I was a teenager!

Oh the wine is in a different cabinet or re:back to bobby d

Don't Look Back is exactly what is missing from Masked and anonymous. You have the shameless govrnmt who wants it repressed, the shameless promotor who wants a product (j. Lange), the shameless manager who wants a buck (J Grossman i mean Goodman)who Bob connects with on that Bob's Carnival level (man eating chicken), the intellectual groupies (that is blind lemons guitar man, the one he played matchbox blues on) and the shameless reporter who was searching through bobs garbage to validate his (the reporters) existance (that Bridges Boy) the only thing missing was the flame inside Bob, instead of that stimulant driven type writer busting reclusive madman that wondered through the frames of don't look back ignoring but observing the world around him you have a lethargic occasionally retrospective senior bob wondering through the frames of masked and anonymous occasionally playing through an interesting mix of folkie type canival songs (Dixie was my fav)ignoring and occasionally commenting on the world around him. it seemed it was difficult for the actors around him who where desperately trying to create the manic world that swirled around bob in the sixties (i assume the intent) but he gave them absolutely nothing to repond to. Maybe that was the genius of it all I don't know. I don't know, like i said before that artsy / philosophy stuff is complicated!

but it is interesting how much new bob stuff is out for sale these days, holy crap, a veritable smorgasborg of every grunt, grown and outtake he ever made in the sixties (definitely his most valuable period), walk around the store and you will find the most overstocked bins, invariably, are the great Bobby D, J Garcia/gratefull dead (with a bunch of new Merle Saunders stuff they call Jazz but I would call loose R&B), Neil Young and Frank Zappa. It is amazing how much crap is filling those bins (those teasing bast@#%s).

Oh, i have wondered off now!

(edited to note 1. the intellectual was not shameless because i would love to play the guitar that blind lemon played matchbox blues on and 2. willie nelsons bin also overflows. Thank You).
