There seems to be a growing contingent of Blunderites who 'invade' Oklahoma every July. It would be great to have you all come along! Ruthie is right that it's a five-day party... two years now, I've enjoyed the fun, and will be making it my annual pilgrimage, as some do with the October shows at the Church. I wonder how many Blunderites Okemah can hold.......

True....and I'd never say never to anything.

But I've always had an awareness that the time that my kids will live in this house is relatively short. My oldest boy is already too old to play in the tournaments, & my youngest has only 2 years left when he can play in 'em. It's a tough decision.

Yeah Joe I kinda know how ya feel. Remember I wrote something somewhere about friends of mine whose daughter,Rebel, was riding in the Olympic games? Well she came 10th over all in the Individual eventing (and OZ would have won gold again in the team event if Andrew Hoy haden't fallin' off in the Cross country.) Well, (I'm writing a novel as usual) about 12 years ago Rebel (then 15)and I (then 38) trained with the same instructor and he told me if I worked hard (training after work, spending every weekend driving around the country ,horse in tow, competing and building up points), I could maybe one day become one of the top Dressage riders in this country. But my daughter was only eleven and I loved spending my weekends with my family cos I worked every second one. So sometimes us talented types (HA HA)have to make choices.I know I made the right one for me' cos now my daughter is 23 and leading her own life, and we are very close 'cos I was there for special weekend stuff. These things mean alot to kids. Boy, when my parents used to come watch me compete at Pony Club when I was a kid I was so proud!
So it's your call, that's for sure.Hey but I know you would have won, your so talented!
(Really I just don't want you to enter for about 5 years when I can afford to come over for WoodyFest, but don't tell anyone else).

Well, if we DO come to OK, it will definitely be a family affair. Believe me, if I'm gonna get up on a stage & make a fool of myself singing a song I wrote, my kids will definitely wanna be there!

And if not this year, maybe some future year. Seems like the WoodyFest is going strong & isn't likely to die out soon.
