I guess I'll just keep on being me. Hoping John Lennon's death will not be in vain. Sometimes it seems, I've failed at being me.

How can you fail at being you?

You can only fail at being someone else.

Look at George, he thinks he's the president!

(just real quick)
thanks for all the references psb!
couldn't sample a single available sound clip (computer won't let me)
but from what little i could try and figure (got some vague notion), that first album looks pretty interesting (an interesting combination of folks) and it also looks like probably the most impossible one to have a listen to. :)
anyhow, i'll see what i can hear when i can hear it (something like that)

although i did sample some ornette on youtube and laughed thinking about the birds :)

I was only kidding about failing at be myself. I figured on Arlonet where adg says, "It is better to fail at being yourself, than to succeed at being some one else" you all would laugh a little.
Being Number 9 or 11 in a Family of 12 is scary sometimes though.

Morning Bugle has a similiar bunch of musicians, Dave Hollabd being the constant on all three. That first one is a good, I got the vinyl I purchased in 72 still (and I have kept it in good shape). The Morning Bugle Vinyl got partied to hell but John signed the cover once (proud of that one).

Oh, I'm me. Its just that no one will believe me, who could do anything about it. But there was never a time or place, where you could do so little and get so much done.

Re - "But there was never a time or place, where you could do so little and get so much done."

Me thinks you missed moving into Gen X (The Extreme Generation) and its evolutionary process, it is now "Never a time that you coud do so much and get so little done" . . . or ". . . get further behind" . . . or " . . . did anything get better ?"

Hey, The Dog I believe in, killed John Lennon so Number Nine would never go to the big apple. Number nine is the prince guy who got shattered in Daniel 11:22, by a wonderful jewel like blonde in Dan. 11:20.
All in a Club called Forty's-nights and day, in what I call Lemon-minister, where Johnny Appleseed was born.
Someday, the truth of a story into hell will be known.

Who will lead this world of blues. (I need a dictionary to spell sorrows)
But who will pay the price for freedom? Learn the disciplines of the road?

It ain't that complicated. Though a complicated world can be causing lots of confusion.

Ok Leo, The doG killed John Lennon? so Number Nine? would never go to the big apple (why not?) Number Nine is the Prince guy? shattered by a wonderful jewel like blonde (OK I can understand that but who is the blonde?)? Or maybe Zap can help? Larry? Cliffite, you typically have keen vision? How about any of you tired Indians who went to the big Pow Wow at the Church last night? You did some communing with the cosmioc vibrations so you must have some insight!

...one that creates must then also destroy...in the end days there is only one...you stand alone, naked and to die is all that there is. We assume doG, as it is written. I know not music nor writers nor indians in wowie, lo they too see what they have wrought and it is good for the needs. Set free the babble and clarity washes in. I am THAT I AM!

I once said the following about a Hippie Show,
"That was an odd show and I agreed with many of the facts but only about 10% of the conclusions!"

Somewhere Cheryl asked? Well, the facts of the "Hippie" movement are very straight forward and they are what they are! However, the so called legacy of this movement is very often misrepresented (I think). The actual movement itself was pretty focused (physically) and unfocused (philosophically). All this stuff I am writing is just my take on the affair so for what it's worth. There was a cauldron of Baby Boom post WW2 Cold War Vietnam War something wrong in the cosmos Energy out in the waves of a controlled God Loves America and Gave us the Earth to police attitude that filtered through the Father Knows Best presentation of the universe. The lid was a bit too tight by the time John Kennedy lost his mind and the fire was fed with Beat Poets and Folk singers and various assorted non conformists of all types and description. (I think I agree with the facts of the show sorta so far). I think all this stuff led to an explosion of expression and the fire was stoked by the Beatles and Dylan but (where I begin to disagree with the presentation and what has become the standard presentation) is that nobody agreed on anything but that War was bad. The equilibrium "establishment", the base philosophy of the people involved in the "Hippie Counterculture" was shattered and all the things that happened (loosening of sexual restrictions, experimenting with illegal substances, refusing to conform to dress codes and refusing to respect authority blindly) were reactions to the failure of what had existed before. There were attempts to focus this outbreak by the "true Hippies" but the actual pervasive Hippie cultural as we know it today are individuals across the planet who were not present at Haight Ashbury or the "the original communes" or even Woodstock! Take my world for example, Oklahoma City, my oldest brother turned 18 the weekend of Woodstock and was in Marine Boot camp by Christmas. By Christmas 1970, my other older brother and myself had shoulder length hair, we had read On the Road, we didn't live and never lived in a commune nor were we anti capitalist but we were definitely paranoid anti-establishment and anti war and sexually, I can't recall many free love orgies but being a young male of raging hormones I probably thought about them (the distinction is I didn't feel guilty or act like I felt guilty about it as many others still did and do to this day). So, then the show went on to suggest the legacy and the disappointment and disillusion of the "Hippie" movement and they gave it a few faces such as Charlie Manson, the snow-blind seventies, Disco and AIDS.

I personally don't think any of things are relevant:
Good time Charlie was a product of the establishment with a strong mind and a bizarre since of self who found a group of people with no sense of self but groping for something and it led to tragedy.
The snow-blind seventies (or any hardcore drug abuse and sexual excess) is a fundamental weakness of man to which all societies and all philosophies have fallen victim. My own experience is that I had some enlightening experiences and some deadly experiments (I know some ultimate victims). It is not necessarily a "Hippie" issue!
Then there is Disco and AIDS, how can they possibly blame Hippies for either Disco or AIDS, bit of a stretch there?

just my thoughts on the subject...now back to Leo and the 49!

Errata...please strike the word probably from the line about free love orgies (in the name of honesty) and on a personal note I love ya Cliffite (although after reading things about love around here I am not sure what that means) but, man, good words!!!
