Here is an article lifted directly out of our local "Coffee News" today:

"Police in Somerville, Massachusetts, know about some buried treasure. That's because they are responsible for causing it to be buried. Acting police chief Robert Bradley says there was $35,535 in the drawer of an old desk at the police station. Too bad the folks who dumped the desk in the landfill in Rochester, New Hampshire, didn't realize it. Now the desk is buried under hundreds of tons of compacted trash. 'We know where in the landfill it is, but even with heavy equipment, I don't think we could recover it," says Bradley."

What is it about a certain New England state and garbage dumps? Too bad the Somerville police didn't try to dump the desk on Thanksgiving; they'd probably be $35 thousand or so ahead right now!

if you lived in Somerville (i did until recently)... you might also wonder why anyone was keeping $35,000 in a desk drawer at the po-lice station....for lunch money?... course maybe you wouldn't wonder at all...

...and maybe you wouldn't wonder why they had to dump it in another state....lol...
