Any talk of a 40th anniversary, and would Arlo play?

That would be cool to have a 40th Anniversary Woodstock Festival with the original performers reuniting on stage after all of these years
If Woodstock 2009 comes true I will be there, can't miss this for the world and "NO RAIN NO RAIN NO RAIN!!"

Now......this is the thread that got stuck in my mind and images started waking me up at 3 in the morning. Of course then I started formulating and you know what THAT means.
So these images are stuck in my brain and I have to get them out (especially before July, when I turn 53 and will have even more pondering to do according to Judy) or else I won't be able to get any sleep!!

I'm seem to be getting stuck in all kinds of things lately (including stuck in the middle with Arnie which I have avoided but enjoyed having fun with for a short time)

So now I need to get unstuck but I only have part of the story and will need your help to keep it going so I'm going over to the story board to get unstuck and hope some you will help me. Hey....we need some laughs around here as a break from the doomsayers.

Don't forget, the best time for formulating is three in the morning.........EST that is. Now that is 1 PM in the arvo here so after lunch I will be sending formulating vibes across the Pacific to wake you up so get busy.

So what's the story?

I can't believe there's nothing being done (on a large scale) to commemorate the 40th anniversary.

I hadn't heard anything about one big festival, but googled and came up with:

which mostly makes it sound like the anniversary stuff will be fairly small scale. There also is a movie coming out soon, "Taking Woodstock," directed by Ang Lee and starring Demetri Martin, and with Eugene Levy as Max Yasgur.

In the DC area, the Strathmore is having a mini-festival on August 13, with a bunch of local artists:

No mention of who will be "playing" the Folkslinger.

So much for the 40th anniversary.

I suppose 50 is the magic number.

(But how many of the Woodstock Generation will still be around by then?)

I haven't heard of a big festival, though Michael Lang may be trying to pull something together in Coney Island NY.

ADG will be at the Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts - the original Woodstock Site - on August 22. Richie Havens will be there on 8/15, and "Heroes of Woodstock" on 8/16... these are NOT a festival, but specific performers and paid admission. (I've heard through the grapevine that there may be a few 'friends' getting together down the road a piece on the weekend of the 15th - though I can't make it this year.)

Well, regardless of if somebody puts something together or not......THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A WOODSTOCK!

Last night we went to a friends place for dinner. He had won a fridge and one of those big screen TV's. So he put on a dvd to show us the TV. IT was Woodstock, the 40th ann blueray dvd. Well it was great to see it again. My beloved and this friend both had their heads in car motors around the time of Woodstock so I had to explain who everyone was.(I was actually very surprised that this friend had bought the Woodstock dvd)
IT was fun and we even sang along with Country Joe.
One old hippy and two old motorheads what a sight!
Everyone looks SO YOUNG! Well it WAS 40 years ago!
