:?: Does anyone know how to get on the "insider" list for tickets to the November Carnegie Hall Concert. We have been attending the concert for more years than I care to remember... but we usually end up going to the box office a week after the tickets go on sale and have never gotten good seats. Last year we got there at the moment the box office opened on the first day they want on sale and still couldn't get good seats. They said they were held by the promoter for "fans." So my simple question is how do you go about getting good seats?

 And I think we should be considered long time loyal fans. My wife knew Arlo, when..... they went to summer camp (Raquette Lake) together in the 1950's when Arlo's mom Marjorie was the dance counselor.

Members of the Guthrie Center usually get postcards announcing the Carnegie show ticket sales... so give George a call at the Church (413)528-1955 and become a Member!

Welcome to the site. She gave good advice on joining the church. :) That is so neat your wife knew Arlo back then. I bet he was a cute & precocious kid... :)

Actually I think she mentioned that Arlo was a bit of a dork back then. I am not sure he was very happy at a camp for mostly upper middle class Jewish kids.

Although the first mailing is to Guthrie Center members, you can also get notice of advanced ticket sales through Rising Son Records! If you're on Rising Son's mailing list and live within a 100-mile radius of Carnegie you'll get a post card too...just sent your name and address to info@risingsonrecords.com :)

I contacted the Guthrie Center (and joined), but they said they have nothing to do with the Carnegie Hall Concert. They said they are completely independent of Arlo and only control the concerts at the Church. I have also signed up with Rising Sun records. I guess I will have to see if that results in getting good seats for the concert. But I doubt it. This whole situation seems to be a mystery.

I'd call RSR: 413.623.6112. They're nice people and if anyone can, they probably can give you some idea of what to do.
