I used the "Mooses Come Carolling" poem with my reading classes today. We just finished working on a poetry section and were working on sequencing. I typed up the poem, cut the lines in strips, gave the students the first line and had them figure out the rest of the poem. They had a lot of fun with it and the subject was season appropriate. Thank you Judy Beisler for a poem that worked very well with middle schoolers.

You're welcome! I've also heard of that poem being recited at a Winter Festival show, or whatever such things are called these days, in a grade school. Whoever would have thunk it?! Certainly not me. I was quite happily blown away when I received that news, as I am to read yours. Now I know how Arlo feels about the Motorcycle Song being studied in colleges and universities!

How does the poem go? Do you substitue 'Carolling' for 'Walking' or is it a different poem all together? I'd like to do the same with my students.
