Reason being you can bet your bottom dollar as soon as get out my bed feeling alright , got the coffee on n rolling a light , the damn telephone starts ringin from dawn to night with damn sales peoples tryin sell me stuff .2nd, MY FRONT PAGES., my dear old Ma ( bless her ) used to love this one & she'd Remind me of it ( even before she died ) of my ( 15 month ) adventures that were brought to an end & taken back home by the cops man was i a local celebrity . ha. .when i was in my younger years, well was 14yrs old thats is . i was what ya could say an unruly vagabond , against everthin in the whole establishment ( No change there , still the same ) i ran away from home n hit the open road with a Fairground compny, with the cops out lookin. There i was free n having a Far out time finding my first love & losin her & feelin my first heartaches. Meetin many friends along the journey ( who i lost track of ,but hooked up with many yrs after ). the motorcyle gang who let me hang out with( who took a likin to me & so thought they'd adopt me for safe keepin & finally meetin up again with those i went to school with who'd ask me all bout my adventures . Groovy times man 3rd, MY LOVE, dedicated to my late Partner Angie . the love we had for each other, n the Cool times we shared . Never forgotten ...plus many others dear to me . Grateful thanks & Bless ya Arlo for keepin them days real to me Peace.

This is a great topic. Naturally, all of Arlo's and Woddy's songs I can apply to some important time, place or thing that has happened in my life or to what is goin' on in the world. But, for me personally..I would have to say really just two very important meaningful songs; "Days are short" and "Last to leave". For the song "Days are short" makes me think of all the strugles my wife and I have had throughout our relationship and somehow we managed to stay together. The song "Last to leave" makes me think about how hard it is to hold on to relationships with friends and family where I travel and work so much. In my travels I have met so many wonderful and great people but because my time in their world is so short it makes it hard to maintain and hold onto those relationships. The song reminds me to enjoy the time that I have with these people and to enjoy the place and the time that I am in right now as it is. I met so many people and have so many memories....

Playing Alice's Restaurant at my first uptown gig at an Ireland's. I could burn half a set with it and it always got a big hand... I think probably because I could do it at all. Oh to have the memory and left hand I had at 18.
