I've spent the good part of Chrisrtmas Eve and Christmas on the internet & U-tube listening to the various clips of the Guthrie family.

What hits my heart, with two precious daughters of my own, is watching on the videos how Sarah has grown (and yeah too looks like the family's kinda growing like rabbits as well). From looking so inncoent singing at 14 - was it at Wolf Trap to whatever age she is now - watched the Smithsonian(Sp?) video. Had to laugh she said "my Pete Seeger" - not many in America can say that about that icon, but from Sarah kinda was the real thing - just a "bit" of history there. Then a clip singing Show and Tell - still chuckling.

Well I always bought every one of the old man's records (sorry Arlo) except Alice's resataurant - (hah stole that one from my cousin) - still have them all - but now gotta buy Sarah's. Looks alot like she's the torch bearer for this grandest of American families. What a beautiful thing in American culture seeing this gradual passing of the torch. Her stage presence. Wonder where she got that from??

Hat's off to you Arlo - you're one of the best ever. A true American treasure. And Sarah, from this old man - you are one cool "kid".

Good health

Sure, John. Don't you know they're all hiding in the hollow log until the time when they outnumber the dogs chasing them?

During the GFRA Tour, Arlo said that moving the kids on and off the stage was like "herdin' cats"............
