For any of you who do not know what Relay For Life is, here is more info: http://www.relayforlife.org

Last year our small relay team came in third in fundraising in our area, which was pretty impressive considering the American Legion and Elks club were 1 and 2. We were just a small team but had a lot of hard workers and members who gave till it hurt.

Anyway, I think we did too good because many of the members are now on the Relay board itself and the team was basically forced to dissolve. Oh well, I guess we are going to have to start another team lol.. That's ok! People that raise money like that should move up!

One thing I always try to do this time of year though, is get the word out. If you really want to help those local to you handle what is truly one of the toughest challenges in life, please get involved in your local Relay For Life events! I can only speak for myself, but I find it one of the most inspirational things to witness every year. When you see mothers with children who have cancer, rallying with smiles on their faces with a community coming together to give them hope and support, you just know you are in the right place.

Here is where you can find events local to you:

Thanks!
