To all the cult members like myself that worship ground dwelling weather predicting rodents, I'd like to send out best wishes for a happy groundhogs day. Phil is watching and so is Bill Murray.....so behave. It's nice and refreshing to have a deity that's afraid of his own shadow.

To celebrate Grondhogs Day in Washington DC,President Bush has accepted a challenge to engage Punxsutawney Phil in a game of "Jeopardy". Vegas oddsmakers have the groundhog listed a a 8 to 1 favorite, although Bush has promised to "smoke him out of his hole".

Punxsutawney's only about 45 minutes from where Eric's going to school.... I was really hoping that now that he has transportation, he'd take a drive up there in the AM... like around 4 AM to get a good spot.... but alas, the kid's not up that early.

Tried to convince Lance that we should go up to visit Eric... he said no, Eric's busy LOL

Oh, well...

It's about 3A.M. on the morning of the 2nd Feb there and 5 P.M. on the afternoon of the 2nd of Feb.here. As I'm writing this I'm listening to our thinking persons radio station and they just crossed live to Lone Pine Wildlife Sanctuary in Brisbane for the poop from our own Backside Boris(a wombat).
Fairdinkum I'm not making this up!!!!!!!!!!!
If he sees his shadow or looks at his butt it means we will have wild summer storms for the next 6 weeks.
Well he was laying on his back and a shadow fell over his privates, but he did'nt look at the shadow or his butt so looks like no wild storms this year! I'll let you know what happens.
Let us know the poop on Punxsutawney Phil!
Wonder if Joe went?

It's a bright sunny cold day here in the northeast.... Phil saw his shadow, and so we can expect six more weeks of winter!

Nope, altho' I'm in PA, that's a decent distance from here, & in my line of work I don't get the luxury of a lotta time off in Feb.

But I might hafta make an exception if he were a wombat looking at his own butt!

I am with you Joe on that wombat thing that sounds far more interesting than the groundhog (and besides, where I live I can go out and find plenty of them ground varmits to watch any day they are the Yankee version of the armadillo (spoken like a true southern boy)) but Joe would you consider a turnpike trip to see Arlo in May in Harrisburg, its a pretty nice place that Sunoco theatre and I'll buy ya a beverage of your choosing before the show!

A trip to Harrisburg to see Arlo has crossed my mind, coz he hasn't been here since 2001. It's tough for me to get away, however, during my boys' baseball season. But if I can get away & make the trip, I'll let you know, PSB, for sure!
