I was wondering where this thread was--I knew Blunderites would have much to say about this topic--I just didn't find it earlier. When I "re-discovered" Arlo about a year and a half ago, one of the most wonderful things I read was the story of the "bring your own God" church. It did make me start questioning my beliefs--in a good way! I've been a Catholic for about 25 years after being raised Quaker. (quite a switch, huh?) I have found wonderful people in every church I've been in (and a few stinkers, too). I just feell it's been made 100 times more difficult for any priest who is sincerely trying to do his best to do God's work. I don't have any answers, but a quote I cling to a lot is--you can't go back and undo the past, but you can start right now to make a new ending. I hope the Church is sincere in its starting over. Thanks for listening!

At night, a wee small child will reach out for comfort, be it a small doll, blamket or maybe a little dog, it does not matter what it is, it only matters that it gives comfort in the night. So it is with the church, it does not matter so much which church or belief that you follow so much as that the comfort so needed in our darkess hour is there.
I hope we all can find that comfort and share or love and respect for one another, meaning that the world will be a better place when everyone learns the magic of those works "you may be right"

Wyldflower I LOVE the site. That Church ought to take to the road. I'm thinking it's a real kick in the pants. So to speak!....<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15>

I'd rather hear a lecture from the "Krusty Crab" than some stiff (pardon the pun) white collared caucasion, that can't do without the wine!
