I have been watching the news and reading the boards but still I have not heard anyone ask, Why are we in Iraq? Where is there any link with terrorist? Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Why does the US want four long term bases in Iraq? How does the American unprovoked attack on Iraq compare with Germany invading Poland?
I really think these are questions that all of us should be asking, or like the German people of World War Two, are we to just trust in our leaders, no matter how they got into power?
I would like to see anyone offer proof of any link between Iraq and the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
I would like to see proof of any link with terrorist and the people of Iraq.
I would like to see some proof of Weapons of Mass Destruction other then those taken there by the US Goverment.
Remember please, this was not a war to free the people of Iraq, but a war to stop terrorist from attacking the USA with weapons of mass destruction....I think it has all been a lie and the war was about gaining contol of the land and of the oil, can anyone offer any proof otherwise?

Now Now Nathen;
Go sit in front of CNN and watch all the GOOD news they orchestrate for you, you will see the GOOD our country is doing.
or
Go listen to the wonderful music on Clear Channel it will soothe those rebellious thoughts right out of your head.
or
Go play a good blood and guts video game and be a part of the action as it leaves you wanting more BLOOD.

There is NO PROBLEM, IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD

Our President is GOOD.
He can do no WRONG.
You will be a good citizen and OBEY.

WAKE UP AMERICA WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!
NOT BY TERRORISTS, BUT BY OUR OWN LEADERS!
SHOCK and AWE is what we will feel when the last of our freedom is gone, at least by those of us who can still think & feel!
Don't just DO SOMETHING...SIT THERE!

HomerJ

All I can say is I support the troops! I think the fact that Saddam Husseine killed more people (or murdered and slaughtered. I believe they call it Genocide) than Hitler and 3 other Dictators says enough. If we didn't do something to put this dude out of commission it would have been a time bomb just waiting for another 9/11.

I DO NOT believe in War. I'm also a pacifist. But don't fuck with NYC or any other part of the USA...Or we sooner or later will kick some ass. I'm glad the worst of it is over. But I'm an ignorant man. Maybe this is just the beginning. Yet I dought it. I believe the worst is over, & a new world is in order. But I've been wrong before...

Remember to remember to count the body bags of Soldiers returning from Iraq. Or Afganistan. 10 yrs. no one (or not enough_) will remember. Soldiers arent' like artist. They don't get more popular after they die. Not always. Artist always do. Soldiers seldom get remembered. Think about it!

May I leave you with this link, It is not pretty, It is graphic, It is biased against the war, But I do believe in between all the rhetoric, there is a lot of truth:
http://www.the-broadside.com/

War is dirty. Don't just stop at the top page, dig in and get your hands in the muck.

HomerJ

PS: I also support our troops, I was one in my day, and if I was again, I would follow my leader, because it would be my job to do so, whether I believed in it or not.

To be a soldier, you are not allowed to think, only act on your commanders orders.
Now I am a simple citizen and I hope free thought and speech are allowed?

Maybe I will earn some rising blood now, but some of your quotes make me just speechless:

The only way to support the troops is to impeach Bush and his Masters of War and bring 'em back home as fast as possible

If you sum up the body count out of the time when Saddam Hussein was a U.S. partner and used the tools "Made in U.S.A." you may be right (I don't even believe it)... but a comparism with Hitler ?? Hitler reached out for the whole world, I guess that's Bush's part of the game...

Saddam Hussein wasn't the origin of 9/11... but now, after the war, in fact you can await that...

This proves to me that you are not able to look farther than the outline of U.S.A. !! There's still a world outside the U.S.A., and this "other world" isn't too fond of the "new American world order". Or do you really want to tell me that American democracy is the best in the world (if it is democracy at all, I'd call it the "Florida model")??? It may be well for all non-blacks, non-indians, non-poor !

Well, I'm hopeful, the world is not going to take this...

BTW: The easiest way to get George W. out of power: Put some alcohol in one of his drinks... it works !!! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif" width=15 height=15> <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/bounce.gif" width=31 height=31>

Martin, I agree with you on your reply, it was excellent, HomerJ, I will obey, I too have served and I too question the goverment, in fact I think it is our first duty as Americans and as humans in general.

I think Rob overlooked the Jewish question, but I have a clear picture of 6,000,000 killed, and if Iraq has anything to compare to that then show me the graves.

The fact remains that the American people have been mislead as to the purpose of the war and the news has not held the goverment to task on it. In Viet Nam we were there only as advisors and then we slipped into a limited police action and then 50,000 body bags came home. The times have changed but the same thing is happening agian, we went into the country for one reason (to combat terrorist) then we changed it to another reason (to get weapons of mass destruction) and then we decided that the real reason was to free the people of Iraq. Now we are there to form a new goverment....what nest?

I also support our troops bring them home to their husbands or wifes, let them see their children, let them put down their guns and live in Peace.

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

This is so true it sickens me. On Thursday, 15,8,02 my local paper 'The Leigh Reporter' ran a story the head line being 'Outrage At Memorial Vandalism' next to a photo of said vandalism. Now fair enough this is bad it shouldn't be. Cenotaph's are there as reminders of all those who gave their lives for peace in the 1st and 2nd world wars. The cost of cleaning off the mess was vast, said a council spoke's person... and on and on and on.
But let me just tell just what the Graffiti was, at least 8 CND logos, and the words LOVE, PEACE, and WORLD (the O being a CND logo.) Neatly written around it.
No this person shouldn't have done it (and no it wasn't me) but not one word in the artical about the poignance of putting Icons of peace onto that whichs stand as a reminder to those who dide for a peace they never got to see!
To give the paper its due it did print my letter pointing this out. One centance a fellow writer liked was 'What then, when such a high price does not buy our ideal do we spend our loved ones on? A Cenotaph, a bit steep by my pricing'. I closed by saying ' Now it doesn't do to remind others of this in the manner of last week, but when we are faced with it we would do as well to take into account the appropriateness of the message, rather than our accounts.'

But for this war I am frightened that our Governments are useing the appropriatseness of the message to line their accounts. The Labour back benchers are now asking Blair to show the proof of wepons they were assured of finding in Bagdad, yes an evil man has been removed from power but Labour soupport has took a masive dive through this war, and it's very likely they're not going to get back into power next time round. Please don't think I don't support the troops since the war started I have had in my front window a poster saying 'Suport the troops, bring them back.'
I just think that Oil don't burn so well mixed with Blood. My Granddad was a coal miner he once said to someone who was complaining about the price of coal, that they had no idea of its cost; with oil its the same thing.
I know I've gone on a bit so I'll shut up for now except to say Homer if you don't get in over there try England because you'll have my vote. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>
