I thought it was odd that Arlo did less songs than some of the other performers. I've always wondered why...

There was a thread over in the "other" forums about prices of tickets and Arlo's response. It was a few months ago.

I don't mind saying that I don't make ANY money... stayed home to raise my kids since '83. Survived many really poor periods, barely surviving. Missed many Arlo shows during those years. Got to see him when he would do a freebie in the area. Was glad he could do that sometimes.

Now that I've been in college since '99, I can afford to see him just about anywhere on the east coast. And I'm glad to donate to his Church and pay upwards of $28 to $55 per ticket so he can continue to do freebies that others can enjoy. I'm also glad to pay for the smaller venues... "less people to be sharing him with."

I didn't notice this last night, but I now see that RegFaith edited an earlier post & inserted the passage that I was quoting, so I'm pleased that everybody can see that I wasn't misquoting, altho' it sure does make this thread confusing.

This is a fabulous exhibit!!!
Anyone in the Albany NY area this summer - it's worth seeing! Elliot Landy's photography epitomizes the music scene of the late sixties and seventies... Llanya, my granddaughter, was fascinated with the memorabilia, as well.

I was snagged by Glenn Pontier, of the Gerry Foundation (which is the organization doing the construction on the Woodstock Site). I'm not happy with the prospect of the construction (destruction?) on the Site, and Glenn knows it. Basically, though, I have to accept that the land will not remain unscathed, and so I "agreed to disagree" with Glenn.

HomerJ (aka WayneG) has an abundance of pictures of the Woodstock Site if you want to see how I'd like to remember it... the earlier pics of reunions are what I think of...

I went to Melanie's performance last night. She and her son Beau were great!

For what it is worth, this is my review:
They said that this is the first concert ever held in the Clark Auditorium at the Museum.
The venue is setup like a lecture center with very comfortable seating. It looks like it seats about 500 or so and none of the seats have a bad view. Melanie's audience filled about half the auditorium.
There were a few technical problems, some bad cabling or mixer inputs to Melanie's guitar and it took them a while to compromise on a good volume for the venue. Once that was settled they put on a great show. Melanie joked about how she had finally made it to this point to become a relic in a Museum.

When she began to sing,I was amazed at how much her performance brought me back into the 60's with her wonderfully strong voice. He son Beau played that guitar like it was part of him, I was in the second row and his fingers were a blur on the strings.

They have a new CD coming out soon, and you may want to pick up a copy when it is out.

Arlo is next on July 1st; I did not get tickets to that one, so one of you will have to review his show. My next visit will be for John Sebastian on July 23rd.
