Come on now, Surely there are some opinions on the Bush Legacy. Whether Ms. Miers makes it or not.

My personal opinion is that Bush sucks.

Grammie Steve says she's a red herring - a nomination doomed to failure by design. Bush can then nominate his real choice, who would face a big Senate fight if he were the initial nominee. Choosing the second nominee, Bush can tell his base that he's doing the right thing and tell the rest of us that he tried to do the right thing.

I doubt that the shrub has the intellect for that kind of maneuvering... but Cheney and Rove do......

Steve may just be right on this. Any way you slice it, we're all screwed.

Two ways of looking at the Miers nomination:

1. The Reactionary Right is all up in Bush's face about it, therefore I am pleased because what they hate I love.

2. The Right's complaining about her might be the actual "red herring', and Bush is going to sneak a holy roller past us.

The Hartford Courant's editorial cartoonist, Steve (I think that's his first name) Englehart, drew the Supreme Court building with the Blind Justice goddess holding a sign that read, "Wanted...Associate Justice of the most powerful court in America. No experience necessary"

We've had some good justices who never judged before being appointed to "The Supremes" but lately Bush seems to be a master at appointing people with no experience to their level of incompetence (see former FEMA director). Anybody remember the book <u>The Peter Principle</u>?

No matter what anybody thinks, he's getting to appoint at least two. We can only hope that he screws up and appoints someone who's honest and just.

She was a City Council member in Dallas in the 1980s. I took an informal poll at work today. People either (1) didn't remember her or (2) remembered how ineffective she was. One recalled that she "waffled" on issues. (Where have I heard that term before?)

I visualize a new America, a strong Christain America that tolerates other viewpoints, an America that forces school kids to say "under God" daily and exposes them to intelligent design as we dismantle the public education system and make it a holding place for predominately black proto Junkies. An America proud to display the ten commandments on public ground and sing a song and dance about liberty and justice as we discriminate against Gays, Lesbians and yes, lets make no mistake about it, transsexuals. The America of my dreams protects the right liberties, not civil liberties, but the liberty to own guns, carry guns and shoot guns at anyone who supports the right of free choice for women in the family way. That is why I have taken this step to put people on the court who I am sure will decide the issues based on the right values and beliefs, strong Christain values as were actually intended by the framers of our constitution, as if they had been able to actually write it down correctly.

Mr. President, Mr. President, Do you think the American Indian, Chinese People or Black Contraband who were either displaced by white boys or essentially placed into special economic relationships with white boys (and white girls too) during the early years when this country was developing should be able to celebrate their ancient religious beliefs on public property?

As long as they do it in a Christain manner Ii believe they should have the right to their memorials on public land!

Emphatically, YES.

He used a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center as an excuse for the invasion of Iraq that was pre-planned, down to who would get the rebuilding contracts.

Similarly, Hurricane Katrina did to the poor people of New Orleans what Bush has been trying to do to them through social "reform." Look at the solution: a huge federal giveaway to Haliburton and the usual list of Bush-friendly businesses which will be paid for by cutting services to the very people he's pretending to help.

Bush is clearly calculating. What he lacks is the intelligence to make these things acceptable to the American public. That's why Karl Rove is known as Bush's brain.

Along with Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush's daddy and some shady characters who seldom-to-never see media daylight, Rove calculates the details and timing.

While driving thru Lynchburg, VA yesterday (Home of Jerry Falwell lol) I picked up Sean Hannity on a talk station. This chick had woren an FU Bush t-shirt on a plane that Dbbya was on & some passengers complained about it & she got thrown off the plane. She called Hannity on his show & they both debated it lol. Itg was so funny. He'd ask her questions & she'd try to side step him & he'd let her know she was side stepping her. H etold her he didn't deny her right of free speech but aht she shouldnb't be wearing offensive stuff with bad words on it where children can see it. She finally hung up on him. Mike & I got a good laugh outta the whole thing...
