I was dissanchanted, following this airliner shooting incedent. Not only was the dudes wife screaming, my husband, my husband. She was also shouting, that he was Bi-polar AND HADN"T TAKEN HIS MEDICATION!!!

I find it funny all passengers were held up over 20 hrs, yet not one of them would testify that the man said he had a bomb...NTM: The two Feds in question were suspended from work, do to they're personal safety...

It's a fact that a high percentage of patients with Bi-Polar (AKA manic-depression) suffer boughts of suicidal tendencys... IF in fact he did scream he was in possession of a bomb, that screams suicide... In a post 9/11 soceity.

Airlines also push alcohalic beverages during flight... It's also a proven fact, that booze, can trigger manic behavior in patients with Bi-Polar disease.

YES< he should of taken his medication. A sad fact about manic depression, is when a patient is feeling better because of the meds, he ultimately assumes he is cured. Hence no longer a need for meds....

Yes, the officers could of shot him in the shoulder, and they most likely would be heros...From people I talk with, they are considered heros anyway. They have the publics endorsement, for the most part...

People that are ignorant of Bipolar disorder, probly don't know, some of the most heroic people on the planit suffer (live) with the disease.

I just don't think they had to kill the dude. And the bomb squad blowing up his luggage, didn't impress me at all. It most likely destroyed, important facts, about the man who supposedly yelled bomb...

And you might of noticed, the news isn't beating this dead horse ( human being ) as they would any other nonscence story...

The downside of the hyper-security post 9/11 mindset is proliferation of the "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality. A law was passed in gun-toting Florida this past year that allows one to shoot anybody who they feel "threatened" by with no fear of criminal prosecution.

It's more than sick (the airline shooting). I heard on AirAmerica that many of the air marshals hired when they increased the number after 9/11 are ex-prison guards, and many of those were fired from the prison jobs for cause. Makes me feel safer when I fly.<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/axe.gif" width=39 height=20>

And what are politicians thinking of, passing a law like that? Don't they know that many people feel threatened by them?
