hello all in arlo world

i just received word that i will be seeing arlo at the church in concert on july 3, 2004 as part of my summer vacation in new england!!!!! has anybody seen him at the curch? how many people wioll be there? i am 32 years old and met my fiance on the internet and we both now reside in california. i am originally from new york and grew up listening to folk music and rock and roll . arlo has been an integral part of my life in his music and message and life!!!! arlo- i have seen you many times in concert from los angeles to san diego to the north west but now my fiance and i are gona be in our mecca!!!!!!! THE CHURCH!!!!! I AM JUST INCREDIBLY EXCITED and am counting the days until we are at the church with arlo and family..

arlo you and your father and kids have made my days so much brighter infact arlo i have XM RADIO and they play all different versions of alice's resturant. they even play a 4 minute version if you can believe it. i saw you with sara at the cerritos center for performing arts and sara was just amazing.

Seeing Arlo and Family perform at The Church was a long-term dream of mine which came true last October. My husband, 8-year old son and I drove up from central PA for the weekend.

It was a wonderfully intimate show. Arlo was terrific as always, but "just being there" made it even better.

The woman who owns the B&B where we stayed in Great Barrington told me that Arlo does perform weddings, but that he's extremely expensive. If you can afford his fee.... I think having him marry you would probably be the most phenomenal way of beginning your next phase of life.

Congrats on both the marriage and on being able to get to The Church this summer.

I'll probably be up there for the Fall shows.

Shows at the church are limited to 100 guests, add in the Guthrie Center volunteers and the performers and you come up with 115 people or so. The doors usually open an hour before showtime and some of the more dedicated fans usually start queuing up some time before that. The seating is cabaret style and is first come-first served. There is a kitchen selling light snacks and wine or beer and a gift counter offing a selection of Arlo merchandise. I have some photos from a church gig on-line that may help give you somewhat of a feel for the place. Hope this helps...

How does one go about getting tickets for the Church??? I called the Guthrie Center to find out tickets went on sale Saturday, and I could only leave a message for a call back....

It is my goal to visit the Center this summer with my family.

Arlo, I am from NY -- along the banks of the Hudson somewhere between Brooklyn and Beacon. I was 10 years old when I first saw you at the Clearwater Revival doing your clampoon thang. Pete started a great thing there -- too bad it's not on the Hudson anymore though....Each and every time I see you perform, I am on a high for weeks (a legal one). You eminate such goodness. I thank you for all the happiness you have brought my family thru your music. I took my 7 year old son to see you in Marlborough--he and his 6 year old brother call you "the silly guy".

Weddings are cheap, but divorces are expensive. That's because preachers work cheaper than lawyers do, even though they are worth more.........mostly anyway. Yet another paradox on the road we call life.

THE GUTHRIE CENTER WAS ONLY OPEN ON SATURDAY DURING A 3 HOUR WINDOW. THAT IS WHY YOU PROBABLY WAS PUT TO THE VOICE MAIL. TRY AGAIN THIS WEEK OR SATURDAY I THINK IT WAS 10 AM TO 1 PM ON SATURDAY!!!!

Hello Liz, the best way to get tickets for shows at the church is to become a member of the Guthrie Center. That way you'll get advance notice of events there. Also the Clearwater Fest. returned to the banks of the Hudson a few years ago. It is now held at Croton Point Park Which is a beautiful setting offering great vistas of the river, camping, etc. The park is easily accessible by car or you can take the Metro-North Hudson line to Croton-Harmon where free shuttle buses are provided.
