I just received my Alice's Restaurant soundtrack CD and it is totally radical! CD is enhanced contains the trailer to the movie. CD also contains a booklet with fab photos from the movie with liner notes including a small version of the movie poster. But that is not all CD has a total of 20 tracks with bonus songs such as Car Car Song, Cafe Harris Rag and Pastures of Plenty just to name a few. I bought my copy from secondspin.com and there are still 9 copies of this far out of this world CD left here is the url:

Hurry if any body does not have this CD it is worth getting and makes a groovronious collectors item Get is while it is steaming piping hot....SSSSSSSS!!!!

I think some of us bought it in 1969...and again, when new formats came out...for every CD Arlo has released. Well, I did, anyway!

....I have been searching for that particular CD for almost a year. There was an auction on ebay and I tried my damnest to win it and then I tried to tear apart every used CD site and no cigar so I said the hell with it Incidentally I spotted it on second spin when I was least expecting it....what a miracle

Btw, that Alices Soundtrack album has 2 different covers to it. The one of him in the red/pink fedora hat & one with a black cover which has a different pic of him in a tan fedora hat on the front. One was the orgional & the other was released a yr or so later I think. Whether or not it was on 8-trac or cassette I dunno but it was on cd too...

Speaking of different releases... I just noticed something for the first time earlier this week - or maybe I had just forgotten. When I was going through loading all my CD's onto my laptop, I got to the Arlo ones. And in listening to the "Arlo" CD I was very much disappointed. What the heck happened to the story of "The Last Guy" that came before the Pause of Mr. Clause?! Now I'm gonna have to go dig out my silver anniversary cassette for it... Not much on Arlo that I cared that much for except this... and the CD doesn't have it!!!

Man I'm I used to have regrets about buying the 25th anniversary collection on cassette tapes instead of the CD formatt.....

I guess I did the right thing, as i have collected most of the CD;s anyhow... Its' one of my favorite LPS>> I miss the album cover,,, as the artwork was great.....

I've been looking for my Linda McCartney Photo Album book, she did, before she married Paul..... Can't find it anywhere.... Hmmm.... It had great photos of Singers..... A great one of Todd Rundgren, and one of Arlo with a broken leg, taken in England on a roof top, with two gorgeous models........

Oh well, so much for memorabillia..... Someone ( one of the house keepers staying here, when Sue and I Woud jet out on Vacates) probly stole it, after Linda Died of breat Cancer.....

An Artist is always worth more after they are dead.... ( I could never figure that out.......) But anyway....

Good luck Dave.... Let me know, how you download cassettes on your PC.... I have over 300 cassette tapes, all boxed in sneaker boxes, ducked tapped away..... Thinking the feds, could still send me for a trip...

If I hadn't of boxed up all my crap, I would probly went away... That's the way things work.... Maybe I should box up myself for safe keeping..... ( I'm being crematated, so no worries there..

I bought the Alice's Restaurant soundtrack vinyl record on ebay moons ago and the cover is black with a pic of Arlo wearing the tan fedora. Also there is a another different cover of the Alice's soundtrack with Arlo wearing his fedora and holding a fork and knife, the pic is surrounded by a red, white, and blue dinner plate with stars around it with a white background-very rare.
Anyhow I listened to the soundtrack CD 3 times and digitally mastered songs sound crystal clear like hot soothing Ice Breakers.....As opposed to the vinyl version of Alice, each time I played that record, sounded like bacon frying in the pan while Arlo was singing. My God! Seemed like whoever was running the recording studio way back when was tight and squeaky, could not provide food so the musicians had to cook with a frying pan while recording...That is what I call no-frills

Didn't know that was only on the cassette & not the album. Good thing I have the cassette of it...

I was able to get one of those copies from Second Spin too, and it's a great CD. Thanks, Cheryl for posting the info on it! Now I'm wondering if the actual movie is available on either VHS or DVD? Does anyone know the answer to this and where one can find it? Thanks.

The actual movie comes on VHS and DVD. Nowadays it is very hard to find in a WalMart or a music or video store. Your best bet is to find a copy on ebay if you want to watch your pocketbook or wallet. Also you can go online if you prefer a grand spanking factory sealed copy of the movie. Choices are Buy.com, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, or Overstock.com. Overstock is where I bought mine a year back a centimeter of a moon I should say Overstock has low shipping and I only paid nine dollars and something for mine. Now you cannot go wrong with a reasonable price of a movie starring an all around favorite folkslinger-priceless. For everything else there is Master Card. Arlo's Master Card that is

I agree 100% about the CD soundtrack it is stupendous and most of the remastered songs have a clear quality digital sound not crisp bacon frying in the pan cracking ....Crack kills!

I got mint yrs ago in a Blcokbuster video store. They had it for rent & I saw it which is how I fell for Arlo. I rented it lol & it changed my life. Sounds like either a church progeram or an infomercial lol. They had to special order it for me. The orgional box for it has a brown background on it with him in in his fedora hat playing guitar on it. The re-release has the pic of Arlo fromt he front of the Alices album set insite a plate if ya know what I mean. Like the book of it I have. I found a beteamax copy of it some yrs back in a hillbilly area of KY. I have no beta vcr to play it on but it is a neat souvenir...

I was of the opinion Arlo was boycotting the DVD version as he was given a bum deal by Warner Brothers

Hey Mike,you are right about a boycott on the dvd version,however some time back Arlo gave the a-ok to buy the dvd.Don,t think things were ever made right,but he did say to go for it.
My arlographed vhs version does me fine .

You're right. I'm glad there is no more boycott as I need the dvd. I need to find it somewhere...

Sparkydon glad to here you have an Arlographed vhs version. My vhs version is fading due to age and too much playing. In fact it was the deteriation of my vhs Alice's Restaurant that convinced me I had to finally breakdown and join the rest of the world and start using DVD
