Dear Arlo,

Was at the concert on 3/12 in San Rafael and as you sang some of the more political songs, I realized that one of the things that was missing for a large number of us from the 60's who have now grown up is an EMOTIONAL CENTER to help unite and motivate us to be more politically active again. Now is at least as important a time, if not more so, than in the 60's. A few more songs like that and a few more folk singers on board might just grab us again and give us the umph we need to take back our country, a 2006 version of the Alice's Restaurant Massacre Movement.

Well, we may not have the movement yet, but we got a song that could be part of the springboard to start one.Arlo's "Back by Popular Demand".

and have you heard Leonard Cohen's "Democracy" ... as sung by the Burns Sisters??? Awesome!

Is the song "Back By Popular Demand" a new song Arlo wrote? Or a is it cover song?....I feel like a stump being stumped :oops:

It's a new-ish one by Arlo hisself....he started singing it about a year and a half ago, maybe... if you can get hold of a recording of one of his shows from around that time , there's a good chance you'll find the song there; though he hasn't been doing it as much during the Alice's tour.

....Thanks Wyld....Arlo did not play that song in the Alice's setlist when I saw him at UMASS a few months ago but I will be attending the Spring Revival on May 19 my first show up at the church I'm excited! If I get lucky maybe Arlo will sing it that night

I heard him sing it a few times at the Church. It's a GREAT song!! Hope he brings it back. I have a bumper sticker with "Back by Popular Demand" that Arlo signed for me at a show in Easton, PA. That was a great show. Oh heck ... they're ALL great shows!! :lol:

... I am looking forward to the Spring Revival I cannot stop thinking about it my brain is pounding like a drum....Can't wait to meet some of you beautious Arlo cherubs up there
