Wow, my cousin went to the Shenandoah Conservatory in the late 60's/early 70's. I had a cousin who used to be a hippie & he went up to visit my cousin in the Shenandoah Conservatory. He never made it there cuz he got high & wound up with some kids somewhere & drank some kids aftershave lotion thinking it was booze & belched it up for 3 days. My cousin never knew what happened to him until later. LOL!

So sorry to hear about your wifes low sugars. After the Orkney Springs show, we went to get our room at the Episcopal retreat up there which we were staying at. It was very old fashioned & back in time. Twin beds & no tv or ac. A diabetic man in another room had a low sugar attack & nearly died. When we found out he had passed out we went to help & give him some of our glucose tablets we have to help bring up blood sugars & some snack. Despite the efforts of the mans son & relatives and us (He was 67, widowed & from Fla) he could not be revived & they had to call the emergency crew. Kudos to them for getting there so quickly. We saw him at breakfast the next day & he was fine. The hospital finally got him up & he was able to go eat at a Dennys'. We got his e-mail addy & hope to keep up with him. He was so ncie. His sugars were lowering on him again but he got them back up. He is on an insulin pump. The day aftter Arlos show wewere wandering around & saw one of the Blind Boys of Alabama wandering around. We got to meet him. Didn't get to go to the show as it'd been too hard tackling the mountain roads at nite. I bet it was fun tho & I'd have like to have gone. Anyway the guy got around so well to be blind and diabetic. What an inspiration...

Wolftrap was fun but a nosebleed at the end. Ritchie Havens put on a good show. I have no set list for Arlo tho cuz we went to meet Ritchie Havens after he sang & it took most of Arlo's show to get thru the line lol. He even did Alices. We watched & listened & took pics of Ritchie as we waited in line. Ritchie was really ncie & fun to meet. It was so nice to meet him. With Mike being legally blind due tot he diabetes it'd been too hard for him to walk all the way back down the steps in the dark to go back to our seatds. So I asked a worker there if we could get a seat for him & he sit behind the lawn since Arlo had only 2 more songs to do anyway explaining Mikes disability. They said they could get him a wheel chair to sit in. So they did. Well after the show they were able to get us a ride on a cart to get us to our car in handicapped parking. Well the older lady who took over in handling the wheelchair was a really snippy thing. Yuck! She rushed us to get out of there & didn't want us to say goodbye to anyone because they wanted to hurry us to get on the cart. Trust me it wouldn't kill them to wait a few more mins. Explaing we wanted to say good bye did not good. So we're were sorry we never to got say goodbye to Sue & Jim & Brenda & John. It was nice seeing you guys. I hoep Agnes & Don are okay as we never did find them there. Do check in & let us know you're okay. You were missed.

Richie did All Along the Watchtower Freedom, Here Comes The Son, & Forget what all else. Some neat stuff & the cello back up was so pretty.

Arlo hon hope ya didn't think Mike was real sick cuz he was in a wheelchair but they had him sit in that so he'd have a seat in the back of the place to see you & then they kept him in it after that he had trouble seeing with his diabetes. Mike loves ya, He told me he saw Johnny Cash in Asbury Park once. Pretty cool.

Anyway it's been an interesting 2 weeks going to Mikes sisters in Ohio & Hitting the Arlo shows on our way home.Today we hit up Potomac Mills Outlet Mall & then onward home. And back to our usual routine. Off to the Birchmere shows in Nov...

Cheryl, (regarding your experience with the snippy lady)...Arlo said many things in Hyannis...but the one thing he said that I will never forget (and he says "I wish I didn't have to use so many words to say so little"...this time he said so much with so few)......"There are really only two kinds of people in the world..people who care and people who don't give a damn"...I will never forget that...it really is so true.
