I believe that Jim Pepper's was the first recording of it. That makes sense if, like the video/slide show says, it was a peyote chant that his Grandad taught him.

that is my understanding too zap, but i still hadn't heard it (only of it) and was curious to hear it.
(i am trying to avoid placing blame once again on someone so soon for my knowledge of this)

i have decided for the moment, that i feel safer in a thread marked strange than one marked cool.

I LOVED "You Got Away With It!"--stick through the beginning; I almost didn't, but I've learned to trust the Captain's judgment.
