Hi Everyone,
It has been a little over a month since I posted here. I am still going through some challenges in relation to my illness. Also I have second thoughts of leaving this forum after all of the grief I caused on here. I feel I don't fit in with anybody here. I bought my ticket for the Friday night show but I am afraid to go. It has been a year since I saw most of you blunderites but afraid of what kind of a reaction I will get from others when I arrive at the Church.
I am still deciding wether I should still go to the show or not. I will let you know on Thursday.
Ta ta for now

Peace,
Lorie

Lorie,

I'm so sorry that you feel that way, but I hope that you will change your mind. You've been through a lot, and there are many here who understand and who remember meeting you with joy. Please give us another chance if we have failed you; it was never intentional.

I look forward to seeing you on Friday.

Hugs,

Shelley

I'm quite sure that for the folks that I know here, the only reaction will be that they are glad to see you!

Well I'm not going, but am most Thankful to see you here now.

I have been away a bit myself caring for my Mom for a while, but she's better now and I made it back to go up and celebrate my Great Aunt's 95th Birthday. Saw cousins I hadn't seen in 30 years! (Tried to get her to tell me about hearing Corrie Ten Boom speak, so I could add to the "Family Stories" thread, but she didn't remember. :) ) I haven't been back long though.

I'm so glad you posted!

Grief? What grief? You haven't caused any grief! And as far as "not fitting in" ... well, it's just my opinion but I think most of us here are triangular pegs in a round hole of a world. We're mostly weird here and that seems to be the glue that holds us together. Weird Glue ..... hmmm, that might be a marketable name. Oh, crap! I just remembered that they already have Crazy Glue. Too danged close! Well, there goes another one of my dumbass ideas! But I digress (see what I mean? Weird!).

I mean, look at Larry! He's the sometimes online host of a Blundered and twisted version of Jeopardy. How weird is that? If he tried doin' that anywhere else folks would shun him. Small children would run away in fear and terror (They may do that anyway, but that's beside the point), his relatives would disown him and Republicans (no offense, Cherryl H.!)would think that he would make a good Vice Presidental candidate (Well, he'd have to have moose shootin' added to his resume and marry a guy called "first dude"for that. But the boy can wink! I've seen him! Have him throw in a few cliched lines like "Joe Six-pack" or "consorts with known terrorists" and he'd be a shoe in!). But that's not the worst of it. The rest of us weirdos actually play it! We flock to his twisted game like skunks to a compost heap! Weirder still!

So, see? You're not so weird! You managed to find one of the few spots on the bingo card that actually attracts folks that "don't fit in"! What the heck does that mean? I have no idea. But folks here like you and that makes you fit in as far as I can tell! So, go to the show! You'll have a mahhhhvalous time, I'll betchya!

This was really long, wasn't it?

Lorie,

Captain Zap is right on and I hardly agree with anyone about anything. I was a guy who ditched the senior picnic in high school to participate in the Berkeley riots in 1968, triangular peg in a round hole for sure. A few years back I mentioned that the Arlo forum was like the bar scene in Star Wars. I think I offended a few people but to me that was a compliment. Diversity is a good thing and you are a true to life, unique individual and I hope to meet you sometime at the church. It's just that I'm stuck way out here in the west coast and making the pilgrimage as often as I would like is tough. The more I hang around here, the more I appreciate the unique and special people who make up this family and it wouldn't be the same without you, Lorie.

Larry

The Bar Scene in Star Wars--that's perfect! And so is what the Cap'n said. Finding this community was a revelation to me--an epiphany--there is a place in the world where I fit in, and it only took me 50-something years to find it. And I think it's a good thing. I dont' WANT to fit in anywhere else; never did. Those people out there are WEIRD.

I don't even remember what you think was a problem, Lorie, but you have a home here if you want it. I've been chewed out on these boards by the "master"--Todd--not so long after I started posting here, for something I said that was supremely stupid. I thought everyone would despise me and considered that I might have to quit coming around, but I couldn't bear the thought of that, so I just kept coming back anyway, and now I just miss Todd so much. (The anniversary of his death was a couple of weeks ago.)

The best advice I have for keeping your balance around this bunch of kooks is to be sincere but not take yourself too seriously, and come to the Church this weekend.
