The show on Thursday night in Hampton was great. The sweet lady volunteering at the merch table asked if I had many of Arlo's CDs. I told her I did, and she asked which one had "Alice's Kitchen" on it.

My seat was in the front row of the balcony, which in the American Theater is a great spot, with a good view of the whole stage and all the sweet white-haired folks who were there in the audience with me. I've been to a show there every time Arlo's come through since the theater opened-- it's always a good place to see him.

I cried through the Janis Ian/Woody song about hearing mother's voice, teared up through the Hawaiian instrumental (I won't attempt to spell it) just because it's such a pretty melody, and shivered at the harmonica at the beginning of "When a Soldier Makes it Home" because I remembered that it used to be what I'd play on the CD player when I was falling asleep. The piano lesson story was adorable.

I've been going to see Arlo since I was sixteen in 1979 and he told the clam story at Busch Gardens and played with Pete and Shenandoah, and even after so many concerts, there's always something new. I'm glad he still tours and is willing to keep the arduous schedule he's had for so many years.

We were there too and enjoyed both nites. Had no idea he came to Busch Gardens. But that was before I got into Arlo.

I notice you mentioned a "merchandise table" at the venue. Maybe you (or Cheryl H.) could answer this for me. When we saw him at the Polk Theatre in Lakeland, FL on 2/1, we looked all over for the "merchandise table," but we never found it. Is it possible that he doesn't set this up at every venue, or did we maybe just miss it?

Thanks, mary. I guess it must have to do with the venue, rather than the "get stuff" people. Will have to do my buying on-line.

sometimes if he is on a less is more kind of tour he doesn't have a lot of people around to take care of it. sometimes it can even be bad weather if it is outside. it just depends on what is going on.
