well i'd post a set list if i remembered it, but i dont =0( but i have to say that this was an awsome show! It was extreemly cold, but arlo (playing last) was well worth the wait. the wind was blowing and im sure Arlo, Abe, and Sarah were all freezing, but it was so picturesque when the wind blew back all their curly hair. Arlo played several favorites like "City of New Orleans" and "This Land Is Your Land" and his one encore was "Goodnight Irene" as his last encore is at (as far as i can remember) every show. Sarah Lee sang a song as did Johnny Irion, but as usual shy Abe did not. (but we love him anyway) Dispite the cold, i believe a good time was had by all.

Did Abe do Alone solo? that's always a special treat...(probley one of the better songs written in the early 99-00 era)!!!

*I'd have to say, strong family bonds, love of music, and love and respect for all the fans!!! If you don't like doing something nite, after nite, it surely shows. The Guthries (whether Arlo & xavier, Johnny and Sara, or the whole crew together) just seem to love it all. I remember Arlo tellin the same story two nights in a row, and it was twice as funny the second night. I also read lots of reviews, and remember Sara and Tao performing (somewhere in NYC) and they all had the flu...sick with a bad cold, and they still went on....YOU gotta love that in an artist! Most would love to bow out, to be popular. The guthries give it they're all, from 'big square walkin' to DC Diner, to This land is Your land, to 'the flood. Not to mention, 'Slow boat'.

I heard Abeski do that song live once. He did a great job on it...

We are back honme from Nags Head/Manteo, NC area now. We are staying with my Dad till Sun cuz my Mom is staying in Nags Head till Mon due to the fact that she invited some of the ladies from church to go stay with them at their condo for a few days. I am afraid to leave my dad alone at his age & since4 he's goptta eat & I gotta cook for me & Mike anyway, this way I can cook for all 3 of us & keep on eye on him & Mike. NAGS HEAD (MANTEO) FOLK FESTIVAL-- MANTEO, NC SAT April 6, 2002

Note: Other Performers set lists maybe incomplete due to going to the bathroom, eating etc plus song titles may be inaccurrate due to not knowing the correct title...

We met most of the acts except for Kelly Thibedeaux & Camille Williams...

Weather was freeezing cold necessitating blankets!!!! Yucky! It rained before the festival was to start causing them to not open the gates until 30 minutes later then they were supposed to. Met a local mountain dulcimer player who was nice. Introduced him to Arlo after the show.


Sound check: Saw most of Arlos sound check. He saw that Mike had a NY Yankees Hat on & joked about it during his sound check from the stage. Made a funny joke about me during the sound check. Did some neat stuff on the piano (Keyboards) & guitar. When soundcheck was over Arlo went off to warm up.

Page Wilson-- Richmond, VA folk & country singer is the announcer for the show...

Somewhere in the middle of the show Page WIlson did a nice version of the Nation Anthem singin it & playing guitar.

CELTIC THUNDER-- a Celtic Group from DC opnes. A guy in the group played a neat hand drum.
