As for the class; since many of you seem to be asking about it, and I've even gotten several e-mails concerning the topic; it's a fun class! What the Prof. does is assign readings involving both the movement of the 60's and the music (since they are integrated greatly, and influenced each other),then we have separate lectures on the various movements that had a heavy impact, and the growth, and evolution of rock n' roll, the blues, and folk, etc...

We also have class discussions on the readings,regular assigned videos we have to watch on Vietnam, Berkely, Rock N'Roll, the Civil Rights movement, etc...also,journals that are due usually twice a month reflecting what we've gotten from our readings and class time.

It's actually quite a bit of work for one class (it's an Honors course, actually). I was a bit surprised that there was so much effort involved, but it's a good thing, since you learn far more then you would just listening to some droning lecture and reading a chapter a night or something.

The class is actually team-taught, one person gives a series of in-class lectures on various music movements of the 60's and the history behind them, while our professor teaches about the movements and the politics and what have you. He's such a trip, my prof. =)

I absolutely love the class, but sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the reading. And sometimes I am totally lost; like I have NO idea what's going on, in terms of what stuff means and all of that. And sometimes I get the feeling my Professor thinks I'm a bit TOO enthusiastic about class, and probably wishes he could block my e-mails <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/rolleyes.gif" width=15 height=15> (I'm always sending stuff I think would be interesting, or asking questions) LOL...
But all in all, it's a wonderful class, and I wish it didn't have to end in May.

So there: that's the thing that inspired me to re-route the rag to a new era =) lol! Hope that cleared up some questions...Keep on 1-2-3'in Blunderites! It's gonna be a long one...(sigh)

Sounds like a neat class. We never had any classes on the 60's when I was in school but it was probably cuz I spent part of the 60's in school so I got to see it live LOL! I bet you get an A in the class! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>
