In the movie, "Born in East LA" Cheech Marin is confronted by an Immigration Officer, who asks him to prove his alleged US citizenship by asking him, "Who's the Prez of the U.S?"
Cheech answerered, "That's easy! that dude that used to be on 'Death Valley Days' John Wayne!!" Cheech's "confused, wrong answer' was more accurate, that the "right answer"

very strange days. The only thing holding US back, from whacking Saddam, may be Isreal's Sharron. He won't agree to taking Iraq SCUD hits on Isreal, the inevitable result of any move we make, on Iraq, without retaliating. And, should Isreal do that, KABOOM, goes the whole Mid-East, no more "Coalition to fight terror"
Time for wisdom, a longer view, and prayers

the time to worry about flying is when you're still on the ground...DW

i wish they'd cover these troops a little better...or pull them back.

In this current Afghn battle, Todd, absolutely, CYA & a "hard rain" quick.. long term, there.. who knows, all sides are dirty... notice how nobody talks about the opium poppies? not one word.....aren't they ready for harvest, now...?
In Iraq, we need a very few good people, with very quiet feet, & very sharp daggars

general franks slipped in his condolences to the families of the latest lost servicemen...he called afghanistan, vietnam.

lol...i bet a lot of the older troops are getting flashbacks!

establish free fire zones and use them.

cadence;

there was a bird
with a yellow bill
who flew right up
to my window sill

i lured him in
with a peace of bread
and smashed him on
his fucking head!

heroes are for body bags.

Sometimes there's nothing more that need be said.

These are sad times, indeed. Glad you're still here, Todd. Sounds like you're headed in to the hospital for a bit. Know that you're missed when you're not around, and that there are lots of prayers being offered up about you. Whatever happens, we love you.

GOOD MORNING Afghanistan! Goodnite Irene. This sure has turned into one hell of a thread. With my oldest brother assuring me, that at 45, 50 is a blink away...(don't know him well enough to know what he's got against 50. It's just a fucking #. My Dad turned 80 today. I think he knew a long time ago, it would be a long life....

*If ONLY someone would have tol me.....

Hearts out to the familys of the latest fire-fight... I was surprized at some of 'thier' ages...(some in thier 40's). I hate to think in my greying yrs. of fighting a World War. I'm sittin around waiting. I'm with Neil. "Time is runnin out, Let's Roll"!!!<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/rocketman.gif" width=100 height=33>
